Garage opener compartment door

The part that closes it broke off today. That piece is held in place by 2 torx screws. I temporarily taped the door shut because it just hangs down now. What would you guys do about this, just take the compartment door off? I don't see ever finding that little part anywhere. Thanks.

 

If you post a picture, I can keep an eye out at the local wreckers. I call them almost weekly looking for a couple of items.

 

have you tried the dealer. they have everything. just about.

 

I'll upload a picture when I get home. Just called the dealer and they want $185 for that little thing. And that's why people don't go to the dealer unless they absolutely have to.

if you don't use it, then yeah, maybe take it off, or as the other guy said, junk yard

 

same thing on mine broke off several month ago. havent been able to find a replacement yet...........

 

I rarely go to the dealer for stuff except warranty work cause they A$$ rape the heck out of everyone. Check websites like Ebay and places like that and you might get lucky.
