    I have the Baja S2 Sport lights for my new @Apogee Offroad rear bumper. I want them to wire into the existing reverse lights. The relay cable that comes with the lights has an on/off switch which I'm thinking I can cut and wire into the fuse block...?

    Is the 7.5A fuse labeled BKUP LP NO.3 the one that controls the backup lights? If so, I could use a fuse tap and my problems are easily solved with no factory wire cutting.

    I read these are very bright lights so perhaps I should instead keep the on/off switch and somehow use it to cut power to the S2 lights while still allowing the factory reverse lights to work. But I can't wrap my head around the wiring for this idea. Any thoughts?

    Wire the backup lights to the backup light fuse but add a switch so that you have the option of turning it off.

    Yep that was the last part of my post. The three (one is an extension) cables that came with it are here:

    The relay cable has an on/off switch that I can use, I just need to figure out how to wire the signal into the fuse block...IF that is the correct way to do it.
    So much topic turnover on TW that I doubt many will see the question. Guess that's the problem with popular forums lol.

    If your wire harness is anything like the one I use, the relay has wires that go to the switch, power, ground, and accessories. You can try an add a fuse to the backup light fuse instead of the battery.

    I've got an S2 sport in the stock bumper, I too had ideas of tapping reverse lights, adding diodes, etc etc.. in the end I just went with a simple switch and an addafuse to constant 12v. If i want it on as a dust/camp light I just turn it on. Reversing I can turn it on or off. Just thinking every time I back out of the driveway I didn't want to be flashing the neighbourhood;

    No. It's an ignition fuse to provide juice to the reverse switch BEFORE.

    Caribe has some good links.

    My 2 cents is that the ideal setup might be a rocker style switch (ABC sells some) which can go on/off/auto. Off would mean no reverse aux lights, auto meaning they come on when in reverse and on being on. Then you can go to Auto when out on dirt where you won't blind anyone, ON when you want them for dust or camping or any specific purpose and OFF for normal street use where you'd like to be safest.

    To some of the questions you asked, you wouldn't normally cut off a switch and then tap those leads to fused power, you'd short them together (always on) or connect to some alternate switching system (e.g. a relay fired off the reverse connector and then you decide if you want normally closed (switched off when in reverse) vs normally open (switched on when in reverse) which I think would be the expected behavior.

    The power lead is the only one you go to fused power with and the ground goes to any solid ground point.
