I am looking to possibly install one of these on my 2017 Gen 3 Taco. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also are there any other mods I should do when changing my own oil?

I have one on my 2015 and had one on my 2000. I have two Subaru Outback’s with them also. Never a problem and makes oil changes so much easier. Do it!

Had them on several vehicles. Love that all you have to do is just flick the switch to start draining. No mess and no digging the drain plug out of a pool of oil.

I would totally do this if it wasn't for having to change that pos oil filter which imo is the worst part.

I did the Fumoto valve and aluminum housing.

I also bought the MotivX filter wrench and drain tool.

I don't have one, but I think is worth mentioning; the Baxter spin-on oil filter adapter.

I have one on my taco, my wife's old rogue, my old wrx, and I'll be getting one for her gx460. They make oil changes very very easy and clean.

What is it where can I find the Baxter spin-on filter adapter?

Looks like a great idea until the drain lever/clip fails and unknowingly leaves you without oil.
I wonder if this has happened?

I put a small hose clamp on mine and the valve will not move until I take the clamp off

My only fear would be having an engine failure or issue and towing to the dealer. “What? Fumoto valve? No engine for you!”

Sounds like a good measure of precaution.
