8099F625-E417-42FB-B4DF-592D43E09AE4.jpg When I first got my truck a few months back I wanted to protect the paint. I got the whole truck wrapped in XPEL PPF film and it came out great! I plan on keeping this truck for 10+ years and don’t care about resale. I wanted it to look brand new without worrying about scratches and this was the best option. Looks great, easy to wash and protects the trucks paint. It comes with a 10 year warranty that covers tears, yellowing ect. Who else’s has XPEL?

Ouch, hope your paint doesn't flake off. The white ones are notorious for that.

I've got clear XPEL on my headlights and aux hi beams to stop UV from making them hazy and yellow. Cost me $100 all in, which isn't too bad. Gonna have it redone whenever the wrap gets fogged up and nasty.

I also got my roof vinyl wrapped, to protect the paint from neglect once I get a roof rack installed. That job cost $450, and would've run me more if I didn't remove my third brake light and sharkfin antenna myself beforehand.

I got this diamond package with the tailgate done. Covers everything that is high impact or high touch areas. XPEL is super easy to clean too

Get a spray can off OFF mosquito repellant and wipe your yellow headlights with it. Wipes clean and they look brand new.
Try it and marvel at the madness!

That’s one of the reasons I got it as well. My 2011 Tacoma in super white flaked bad on the doors, hood, engine bay & rear fender by the bumper

I got new OEM headlights retrofitted, and had them wrapped immediately after installation. I never gave UV degradation a chance to take hold.

The DEET in bug spray melts plastic. It can definitely be used to remove UV-damaged surface layers, but you've gotta be careful not to overdo it.

$6,500????? That's fucking insane man! You could easily repaint the truck for that if it really ever even needed it (which I doubt it would). Who are you preserving the pristine paint job for, the next owner?

I’m preserving the pristine paint job for me, I don’t care about resale and plan on keeping the truck 10+ years. I’d rather have my truck look brand new for 10 years rather than have it degrade and get scratches over 10 years then get it repainted. It’s not for everyone but I like my decision

My worry would be when you have to have section replaced and you will. When they peel it off, if they peel the horrible white Toyota paint off with it , who’s responsible ? I bet the installer isn’t?

I’m not worried about it. It’s very high quality film. They use a special technique and are very professional. It’s not like the film that comes on some tacomas from factory on the rear fenders. That comes off in chunks if you leave it on long enough

I did the entire front end/hood/ a pillars and half roof in Xpel. Cost around $2,200 but it's worth it to me. I've been happy with it so far. Easy to maintain and no rock chips (or film lifting) for the 1.5 years I've had it on. No ragrets here!

These are 7 years old...They get a coat of Jet Seal about once a year.
    20220902_215205.jpg

If they ever do start fogging, I'll just buy new ones. If I was inclined to 'repair' them, I'd use the Cerakote kit.
