So I've read some negative comments about fuel wheels for offroad use. Do they have more problems than other brands? One thing I've read is the valve stem is difficult to access when airing down on some models.

They're more a "for looks" wheel rather than a serious "offroad" wheel. They're not weak or prone to issues, and yes the valve stems are located more in the center of the wheel to add to the overall look by trying to hide it. There isn't a problem wheeling with Fuel wheels but you don't see them on many trucks that offroad due to the price tag and the fear of scratching them up on rocks and such. Some of them can be a bit heavy as well, definitely something to consider.

Thanks for the input guys... I'll check out the SCS. What other brands are considered good "offroad" wheels?

Lots of options for you there. Truthfully get what you like the best though. If you're ok with having the valve stem slightly inconveniently located go with the Fuels, or look at like the fuel trophy for example where the valve stem is in the normal position.
Other options include SCS, Method, XD Series, American Racing, Mickey Thompson, Dick Cepek, Pro Comp, Mamba... tons of options.
Of course looks are important, but take into consideration the fit, load rating and the weight to make the best decision.

The best off road wheels are the ones you already have. That way you can spend money on things that actually matter for off road driving.

Thanks... I should have done more research before my build. I still may change out the wheels and sell them before they get scratched up.

Huge market for Fuel wheels. If yours are the 6x5.5 only bolt pattern they will fit Tacomas and Silverado 1500 and sierra 1500 trucks (just needs a hub centering ring). I'f they're dual drilled its most likely a 6x135 which will fit new body style 2004 f-150 and up (heritage 2004 f150 was 5x135 and won't fit)

I like the SCS but they seem to have very limited stock. For example the F5 isn't available in a black 17"
