Does anyone know the size of the bolt for the fuel tank strap? I contacted a dealership and they said that their system doesn't tell them the size of the bolts however the factory part number is 90119-A0249. I’m looking for the bolt size so I can buy a longer bolt to be able to add an additional nut and washer, as mine is rusting out and the threads are thin. Thank you.

Are you talking about the fuel tank shield ? My tank bolts to the cross members.

Then things might have changed after 2000

    Those Bolts should be M8x1.25

    This one?

Also an M8x1.25, 12mm head on the JIS version from the factory.

I think the mounting is the same for all years, but it does vary between cab styles.

Regular cab has two straps supporting the tank. The skid bolts to the rear strap and to a front support on the frame.

Extended cab has one strap supporting the tank at the rear. The skid bolts to the rear strap and both the tank and skid bolt to a crossmember.

    Not sure about double cab.

I'm 90% sure it's M10x1.25, and I just confirmed on my truck that it's a 14mm head on the factory bolt.

Wow, surprised that would have changed/been different from truck to truck, but maybe? Don't have the truck here now to reconfirm, but Zane and I just dropped my tank for the Chevy 63 work, and it was definitely a 12mm in my case. I suppose OP could get a m10x1.25 and m8x1.25 just to be safe; it's not like either of those would be hard to use elsewhere on the truck, at some point in the future!

Interesting. It's definitely 1.25, I know that much.

I know that because I also had my tank off recently and I stripped one of mine and put in a helicoil. Autozone only had 1.50 helicoils so I assumed that was right, and now I have a sad hardware store bolt holding my tank up. Don't be like me.

I suppose it's possible that someone had previously redrilled and tapped mine (I'm the 4th or 5th owner), but it all looked factory...

Yes that’s the one. I will just go ahead and buy both sizes to be safe. I appreciate everyone taking the time to reply- thank you!

For my 2009 Tacoma, it's M10-1.25. part wasn't available at the auto parts store so got a hardware store bolt from tractor supply!
