Got my Fuel pump recall completed last week, went to get gas and toyota i guess didnt install the fuel tube back correctly as its all bent and cracked now, housing has crack as well.
I am assuming the fuel tank has to be dropped to replace the fuel pump and the person whom did the job was in a hurry since it was already closing time when I got mine on rack.

Be back in the morning first thing.

I had my recall done and never experienced any driving issues but I’m not sure any work was done at all.

You might be better off for it.

I've postponed my appointment 3 times in an effort to give them some practice before they do to mine what they've done to the OP's, and at least two other members here. I keep hearing that there's nothing to it, and I keep seeing them fuck it up..

I got the recall letter, but it stated that Toyota was waiting on replacement parts. I would get another letter to schedule to have it replaced.

So after chatting with the service manager, they have to loosing the bed of the truck and raise it a few inch's to access the area for the fuel pump. What it looks like is the technician didnt release the fuel spout and when lifting the bed forced it out and broke the cap, tube housing and fuel tube. Toyota ordered all new parts they didnt have in stock.
Guess I was the test subject, UGH hate dealerships.

I think that will just force them to do it the correct way and drop the tank. When you go in, try to have as little gas as possible in the tank.

I might load my bed up with gravel just to force them to not remove it to do this recall.... There should be no reason to move the bed to take out a fuel tank, dealers have fuel tank jacks (transmission jack) they have lifts. The fuel tank is 100% easier to remove and put back in correctly than to lift the bed and hope it lines up again and isnt all fuckered up by a careless tech.

I have a Snugtop on mine. I recently took it off and sealed again and aligned few weeks ago.
I didnt notice anything out of place after Toyota raised it to perform the recall, looked just as I aligned it.

Tied several boat anchors to my truck to destroy MPG.
Dropped my truck off today for 30K service and they are doing the recall too. 6 hours work to do the recall is what they are saying (aside from the service).

Thanks. I'll have to check mine when i get back home...... My recall was done the first week of availability and i stalled out with a full tank of gas.

Maybe i shouldn't look at the bed alignment...... what i dont know.... won't harm me...

6 hours aside from service? They’re either backed up or their service department is fairly small. Had mine done in approximately 2 hours. And their service building looked like a giant warehouse. The tech was great... did an outstanding job.

This is why I do as much work myself as possible. Yes I know a recall but no one will care as much as you do.

    Damn.

New to the forum. I just had the LP fuel pump recall done to my 2018 Taco. I hate going to the dealer, but will have to trust the service on the unit was done correctly. I did note (and called about) the additional service requests that were performed. It seems during the tire rotation, the tech added about 10 psi to each corner, bringing tire psi to 44. I normally run (was raised on 32-35psi) 35. Not sure why he did that....
