    Hi Folks-

I have a 2001 Tacoma that has the check-engine light on. I've been told it's the "Fuel Pressure Sensor Switch," and that the part is OEM 89460-04020-02851. It's also listed (on the part) as "Vapor Press Toyota" on the top, then it shows the part number below, and then it says "Delco, USA." The part is located in the engine compartment in the R corner closet to the driver when facing the truck head on. It is towards the top of the compartment, like now down under anything. Here's is a picture of it, taken inside the truck..: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m3kw2b8pv9o6jqa/IMG_0982.JPG

Ok, my problem is that Toyota doesn't seem to support this part any longer. The part is no longer made, as the company that made it only offered support for 5 years. I can't find one anywhere - ebay, online, local junkyards, local parts shops, the dude 1/2 hour away who only specializes in Toyota Tacomas, etc..

Has anyone else come across this problem? How have you fixed it?

    Thanks so much!!!
    -Nate

I have the same problem. I followed the link and ordered the part this afternoon.

How did it work out for you, Nate?

And this morning I heard that the part is not available.

    Anybody have any ideas?

I work at Toyota of Escondido as a parts guy in the back counter and in the last 3 months I have come across this problem a couple of time and the part is not available... so we ordered one off a different car and tested it and it worked for us... the part number you need from Toyota is 89460-33020... its shaped a little different and the bracket it comes with is wrong but simply remove it form the new bracket and place it on the old one from your truck and it should work... hope this helps and I wish I could find the last couple customers and let them know but spread the word please and thanks

probably not related but I was told that very often those CEL fuel vapor codes you get are just because the gas cap isn't sealing correctly, might be worth checking before spending money.

fantastic info and greatly appreciated there mate

too bad they don't allow smart people like you to be able to put a note into the national computer data base to tell everyone to just cross over to that part and swap brackets, but that would be to helpful and companies often don't like being too helpful lol.

I ended up using one from a corolla it had the same first set of numbers(89460) as my original but the rest of the part number differed. But it did the trick!

Just a little feedback, I ran into this exact problem with the same error codes. Couldn't find the original part. Ordered the part suggested by this guy, 89460-33020, off of ebay for 14.99 and the installed it. Check engine light went off about 25 miles later. Thanks so much for that information, I couldn't find the original part and even the places that had it listed but out of stock had it listed for over 100 dollars. Saved money and time. Thanks a ton.

    License2Ill,

Thank you for the picture man!
It looks like the sensor is just in front of the master cylinder. Is that correct?

    Thanks again

That is the correct location just in front to the right of it, I found one at Auto Zone for the Tundra but worked just fine for my 01 Tacoma V6 #89460 - 0C010 Vapor Pressure Sensor.

Thank you as I am going through the same engine light concern in my 2001 Tacoma.

This may be a stupid question, but where is this picture taken?

Is the evap pressure sensor switch behind the driver side rear wheel or under the hood?

    Thanks in advance.

Under the hood, drivers side just above the brake booster.
