Gathering all necessary parts for a TDI swap..
New to the forum...I have a free to me 95 sr5 4x4 Tacoma. That original owner left to me with 99k and it has been sitting since 2007..I replaced gas tank fuel pump/filter it runs awesome..but yesterday it sputtered, when I stopped fuel was coming from bottom of round canister on drivers side.. also I opened gascap and it had so much suction pressure..anyone??? Had this before?

You can almost plug and play the charcoal canister out of a mid 90s subaru into that truck

I know cause ive done it, try replacing the canister purge valve, you dont need a toyota one a cheap chevy one that does the same thing can be had for cheaper and easily retrofitted

vacuum lines routed wrong? VSV stuck? many causes can cause this.

Are there 2 rubber hoses as well as the steel high pressure line coming out of the top of fuel pump assembly? If so you have them swapped (like I did) one of those lines runs to your fuel pressure regulator. Sounds like the regulator is regulating fuel pressure into the charcoal canister....

I replaced the solenoid valve blew out lines... Back to gas tank.. one line is into the frame and nothing attached to it.. the truck doesn't sputter anymore but I still have some fuel coming out... Not as much...I will try to swap lines on top of canister....but according to schematic on good.. they are routed correctly...I work evenings, I'm an aircraft mechanic..lol...I found that the valve is also the same on Nissan trucks..denso..took one out of an Xterra...same plug...

Aircraft mechanic background? Sweet, fixing this thing up shouldn't be a biggie.
That one line that goes into the frame is just a vent to atmosphere

The EVAP system vacuum switching valve (VSV, Toyota uses a few in each model it seems:D) sounds like isn't functioning correctly. It should be allowing the pressure to vent in the tank.
But with that Taco's background that'd be a thing to go wrong that doesn't surprise me, the diaphragms and coil in the VSVs eventually bite the dust sometime

Did you ever find a solution? my '99 2.7 is dumping fuel from the canister as well, but oddly only when i have a gas cap on. No gas cap, no problem
