use top teir gas, avoid the "Savings" of a few cents. I only use chevron. You should never need fuel treatments. Those treatments have been known to eat up seals and O-rings.

    See my build page!
So when the dealer wants to do a fuel system service, what are they adding? I heard all they do is add an additive.

I run a big bottle of Techron through my engines once or twice a year. Stuff is not cheap, so I wait for my local auto parts store to run a bogo sale and I grab a few bottles. Techron is good stuff and does what they claim it will do. Years ago even BMW recommended it for their cars and they rarely recommend anything that does not come from them!

PS: there was another product called B&G 44K (or something like that) that I also used that worked very well but, I never see it sold in the auto parts stores these days.

I throw one in each spring. Usually what ever is on sale at Costco. So Techron.

I stick with brand-name gas, such as Chevron. I don’t let the tanks in my trucks sit with less than 1/4 of a tank of gas (or Diesel in the case of one of my trucks). The only fuel additive I use is StaBil for my ATV’s in the off-season. Most of my stuff see’s a lot of off-road driving and dusty roads. No issues yet!

The only thing they are "adding" is to their bottom line profit. Does your owners manual instruct you do obtain fuel system service or to add "cleaners" to the gas tank?

If you use name brand gasoline you are good to go. Save your money on the other stuff especially dealership profit makers like flushes and fuel system service.

No, not on the Tacoma. And I have a 32 year old E350 Chassis Motorhome with a fuel injected 460, that parks 99% of the time and I don't use additives there either. Starts perfectly everytime. Quality fuels already do a great job of cleaning the system.

Folks, modern fuel has all the additives necessary to keep fuel injectors clean for hundreds of thousands of miles; the only thing using aftermarket fuel additives will clean out is your wallet.
