Has anyone found a reasonably priced set of amber front turn signal LED bulbs that are both bright and doesnt show amber reflections in the reflector bucket when not lit up (Egg Yolk effect). That is the one thing that bothers me about my headlights. The manual calls for 7442, but I cant find much in that type. I have read that I could also use 7440, 7443 or 7444. I was considering Morimoto X-VF 7440 LED bulbs and possibly V6 Tritons or some Chrome coated LED bulbs on Amazon or Ebay, but read they are on the dimmer side. Has anyone purchased the Morimotos or V6 Tritons and have a picture of the bulbs installed in the headlight buckets but turned off? Most pics have them lit up. Here is a picture of my current headlight turn signal buckets with some Amazon LED lights.

I've got the earlier V3 Tritons in my 2nd Gen are they are completely clear in the housing.

Do you have some pics? The V6 looks like they dont show the amber LED’s, but its hard to see from the pics on their website.

Also, is it worth the $120 it cost for a set of 2??

Well my headlights are aftermarket with the interior darkened so it's kind of hard to see them but here's a pic.

Whatever you do OP, be aware of the hyper flashing possibility. Mine even had built in resistors and still hyperflashed. Frustrating for sure.

I have Meso’s stage1 total tails in the back with resistors he provided and currently have aftermarket LEDS in the front. I was hoping that would be enough and I wouldnt have to buy more resistors for the front after replacing the current LEDs up front.

These. And still hyper flashes but it’s very sporadic. Some days it will hyperflash right away, others not at all. Frustrating for sure.

To be honest, I don’t even know where to begin to track down the hyper flash culprit. I have leds front and back with resistors on every bulb. I hate the flashing though, rather be back at stock bulbs than deal with this lol.

I got the GTR lighting Carbide 2.0 series bulbs for my turn signals, front and rear, and my brake lights and I love them. They are Canbus so no hyperflash and no splicing of resistors. For the 3rd gens, you will not need the CK style bulbs either.

    https://gtrlighting.com/gtr-lighting-carbide-series-2-0-canbus-7440-7443-led-bulbs-standard-style/

Edit: I don't have a straight on photo of my headlights since installing these, but let me know and I can get one taken tomorrow in the light. I can tell you it is nowhere near as "yolk looking" as the stock bulb.

Not a problem. I'll leave mine though because it has your link in it.

I have the VLed swithcbacks, and they are clear. No yolk effect. So the amber 7440/7443 should be the same.

Looks like the Amber LED’s will still reflect on the buckets. But thanks for the input.

I currently have the vled resistors on both rear sides for the Meso kit. Will I need 2 more for the fronts? I really like the V6 but is it worth the money?

My set up is almost the reverse of yours. I have the resistor on the front, and they were not needed on the back (with the Meso stage 2 kit). So while I can't say for certain, I would bet you don't need the resistors. As to if they are worth it; I think so. They are very bright and look good installed while off. I'll grab a picture tomorrow when its light out, though my headlights are different. I still think it will give you a good idea though. Too bad you cant use the switchbacks, I have a set of new amber/5k I'm looking to sale.

Y'all can thank me later :humble:

    [ @Russty__ they're back in stock ]

Here's a video I shot while in downtown Baltimore City at night obviously. It's very well lit of course and these are larger city block with a lot of ambient light.

Pay close attention to the reflections of the street signs. No, not the ones in this intersection, the signs 4 blocks away!

No hyperflashing, very little egg yolk. LOL

    this and that...
egg yolk effect lol. ultimately, im gonna go 2020 leds, but as a side project i wanted to crack open my stock headlights and spray everything black. everything except the highbeam bucket. i want to spray that hyper yellow, in theory giving it that egg yolk effect. as for the blinker any reputable brand should do. on the meso v1 ultimate blinkers, i thought the yellow was gonna shine through the reverse portion of the taillights, but it didnt; nice and clear.
