    The All,

I have a 2014 RC 4x4 Tacoma. Truck is bone stock, never left the blacktop (yet), has the oem 245/75-16 Dunlop Grandtrek AT20's, psi is always right at 30. I check with almost every fill up. My front tires squeal like they're low on pressure or I'm in a parking garage every time im turning from a stop. Doesn't matter what the weather is or where I'm at. I have two friends, one with an identical truck to mine minus the transmission and color, other has a double cab, 4 cyl Prerunner. Both have identical tires that I have and both keep them at 30 psi and they both tell me theirs don't squeal, ever. I now have 3300 miles on the truck, they've been doing it since I left the dealership with it new in July.

What gives! Someone give me some insight as to what's going on or at least let me know I'm not alone and it's just that Toyota got cheap and threw crap tires on these trucks (which from what I learn is pretty truthful).

    Thanks in advance!

Rotate the tires..... Do you get the same thing?

When do they squeel? On turns?

Rotate tires with your buddies...... and see what happens.

They squeal when turning from a stop. Doesn't matter if I pull away slowly or quick. I've rotated mine and they still squeal, both my friends have had rotations already and they didn't have squealing before or after.

Slightly more psi makes sense to me with yours considering you have a heavier motor. I will try a higher psi, I haven't done it yet because I didn't want to have uneven tire wear. I was going to ask dealer to check alignment when it goes in for its 5000 mile service.

If this is true I'll be somewhat annoyed considering it left the factory out of alignment.

Mine squeals. Nothing to do with alignment that my tire rubs the road surface and makes noise occasionally.

They could possibly have some coating on them still if the tires are very new. I would swap wheels and tires with your buddy and see if it happens still to your truck or if the tires are the culprit. I doubt your alignment is off far enough for the tires to be squeeling like that. At speed the truck would be undriveable if it was alignment.

Does it squeel on all pavement types...if so then that's weird BC squeel should change drastically for different pavement types like fresh asphalt or old pitted asphalt. And usually a fresher asphalt will let the tires squeel at lower speed.

Are the tires stock? Maybe they are rubbing against something?

Only squeals on blacktop, old or paved fresher. I haven't really driven it on a concrete road. I can't imagine the alignment is that off. Truck tracks straight as an arrow. Oem stock tires, only 3400 miles on the truck.

Mine squeal too....only when turning sharply at low speed. 10,000 miles and otherwise run smooth and quiet

That's the sound of your truck telling you it wants some more stylish (higher quality) shoes. It's tired of being made fun of by the other Tacos in the parking lot.

Patience grasshoppa. Once they're worn it'll be getting 235/85-16 Duratracs. But I cant justify replacing tires that work perfect (another than being annoyingly squeaky).

My '96 4Runner (326K miles) has done that since day one while turning at low speeds ... never had any issues with tires. I've gotten 150K miles out of two sets of Michelin LTX ATs - still with decent tread remaining. Mostly highway miles.

When turning into a parking space heads often turn because it screeches so loud...

I forgot how great those Harley's looked. My great uncle actually bought one and fully restored it to look just like theirs. Good stuff.
