2013 Tacoma DCSB 4X4. Front lower shock bolt stripped thread. No good. went to dealer got part# 90105-A0113. Cool.... Not cool. Bolt is smaller that original. How's that possible? Anyone know if the part number is wrong cause I searched forums and looked online Toyota parts and they say same part # for 2013 tacoma. If I do go to a hardware store what do I ask for to be a good enough bolt.. hearing a certain strength or something.

Those are for the base model. I believe this is the bolt you're looking for, 9010514104.

I would just go to your local hardware store. Grade 8 would be overkill for way less money than the dealer. I'm pretty sure the stock bolt is nowhere near grade 8. If you live in a salty environment consider applying some anti seize to prevent this from happening in the future.

If you have a fastenal by you, that is the place to go.

You just need a stronger impact to zip it on there!

Did you choose prerunner as an option? When I look there is base and prerunner and xrunner I think. I thought prerunner was 2wd but it makes sense cause in the manual it always seperates 2wd and prerunner/4wd. Shows you guys I'm fairly new to tacomas yet alone working on vehicles.

If that's true about grade 8 and it being better than stock then I have a Fastenal pretty darn close to me and than I can hold off dealing with a dealer.

Just go to Fastenal. They will either have or will be able to get the EXACT specification bolt usually the next day. I'd be willing to bet they have it in stock though. Take it with you if you can.

That's the plan for me. I wanted to stick with what Toyota put in there but I appreciate the help cause I've seen a few posts mentioning just going to a hardware store and making sure to get a specific grade just couldn't find those specific posts and if it applied to me.
