My front shock bushings are trashed. I didn't catch them in time and now they're blown through the rubber. I know I want to lift my truck at the end of the season when I have some money, but I can't afford the whole kit now.

    Should I:
    a) Ignore it? would that potentially ruin my a-arms?
    b) Replace the bushings with the cheapest set I can find
    c) Replace the shock with something cheap and stock height
    d) Buy the shocks from the lift kit and use them at stock height until I can get new springs

Right now I'm leaning towards option D, if I'm using the stock springs I should still be at stock height so it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the input, y'all always have good advice.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
D would be my choice, 5100 on their lowest notch are stock height and totally fine to use with stock springs. Consider getting new top hats if yours are in poor shape though.

it's extra work to replace just the bushings, but you said you don't have the $ for that right now...

just replace the bushings with the cheapest ones, to prevent damage.

then do everything at once when you get the money.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I myself would buy shocks instead of struts unless you have a new design front suspension.

I would not delay replacing any worn suspension or steering components

Option D, buy once cry once.
Option B, as a stop gap until you can do Option D

Replacing bushings and coil springs can be a PITA. Not something I would want to take apart and reassemble twice.

I put new shocks in last weekend and now that I know to use the Toyota bottle jack to get the shock and coil spring back in its a pice of cake. If no $ now option b, if you get 5100 now and put on the low level you'r going take it apart twice anyway.
