I am installing Bilstein 5100s and the front shocks didn't come with rubber bushings for the top of the shock. I am looking at the Toyota parts diagram to find the bushings but it only shows one, the upper one, Item #22 in the picture, PN 90540-12012. What is the part number for the bushing that goes under the mount? The diagram doesn't show one, only a washer. I want to pick them up at the dealer this afternoon so I can get these installed today. Is it 90948-01056? These Toyota parts diagrams aren't the greatest. I plan to reuse the metal washers.

My truck is 2005 Dbl Cab Short Bed TRD Sport 4x4 6speed.

Pretty sure you can buy the bushings and coil isolators from wheelers offroad if you have trouble finding the toyota parts. Just an idea for an alternative supplier. I bought my uca bolts from them when i replaced my front suspension

Any new set of 5100s should come with all new hardware and bushings for the shock. Might want to contact the seller of the shocks.
Also, you have a 2005 truck. Be a solid idea to replace the top hats. Get ahold of @HeadStrong Off-Road and Marie will take care of ya!

Are you referring to the coil isolator or the bushing inside the top hat #18 on the diagram?

I just put my 5100's on the other day (after 6 months) and they also did not have the upper bushing or washer. I reused my rubber and washer on the 5100's. You shouldn't need the bottom one.

My upper bushing is cracked and split and I would prefer not to reuse it. I bought them from Bilsteinlifts.com. They do not have a phone number but I did email them about the issue. I assume the attached picture is how the top mount goes together. Does the lower bushing come molded into the stock top hat? The ones I saw at NAPA was just a solid stamped metal part with no rubber on it. I called Bilstein and they said they DO NOT come with bushings and you are supposed to use factory hardware. I am assuming the assembly looks like the attached picture. Am I correct?

I would love to just take my truck apart, look at how its all assembled, order the parts, wait a few days, put it back together etc, but I need it to drive to work so that's not an option.

From the top of the shock shaft to body...

    Nut
    Washer
    Rubber bushing
    Top hat itself
    Coil isolator
    Washer
    Rubber bushing
    Washer

NOTHING is molded to the shock shaft, or the top hat.

That's what I figured it was. So what is the toyota part numbers for the two bushings so I can order them? The lower bushing isn't shown on the parts diagram?

    :notsure:

Search the site for Camelback Toyota or something.
If I was you, I'd be getting Bilstein parts from my Bilstein dealer. This is their fault for not supplying what was needed for the shocks.

Btw, I'm serious about replacing the top hats and coil isolators sionce you have a 12 year old truck with xxxxxxxxx amount of miles

I called Bilstein USA, after being on hold for 30min the guy said they don't supply the bushings, there aren't any Bilstein part number bushings for that application, and that I should use Toyota replacement parts if mine are "compromised". I asked if I could order the bushings from him and he said go to the dealership.

Heres the problem with searching Toyota parts diagrams, similar drawing, pointing to similar part, in similar location, with different item number and part number. It doesn't differentiate if one is the top and the other is the bottom. There is no quantity mentioned either.

See item #22 P/N 9054012012 bearing cushion 4 WHEEL DRIVE, w/Off Road package Left
    https://www.trademotion.com/parts/2...iteid=215545&vehicleid=185725&diagram=8512295

    https://www.trademotion.com/parts/2...iteid=215545&vehicleid=185725&diagram=8512265

I am really not trying to be difficult here. The two parts diagrams above just don't make sense and differentiate between top and bottom bushing or even if it matters.

When you take the shock apart, take a pic of all the parts on the top of it, as well as a pic of the underside of the top hat piece. Thanks

I bought KYB top hats and the lower rubber bushing is molded to the top hat and they came with new upper bushings. So for me, it's going to be
    Nut
    washer
    rubber bushing
    tophat
    washer
    plastic dustboot thingy

There's an integrated bushing in the top hat. IMO, you should replace all the rubber, if replacing the shocks. Including the top hats.

Ah, shit! The "bottom" bushing is molded into the top hat...my bad.

One thing I suggest is checking your lower ball joints for play. I'm replacing my whole lower control arm because my ball joint on the passenger side is really bad, Toyota suggests replacing the whole assembly, and the driver side is getting there (125,000 miles).
The major issue I've had is waiting on parts due to the frame rust lawsuit - being resolved - the lower control arms are included in it and the dealer has to email the distributor to manual release them.
Also, I had to cut my Cam adjusters due to them being rusted to the lower control arms.

I've also come across that my CV Shaft dust cover and hub oil seal are bad as well.

Sorry this post is so long but wish I came into this more prepared as my truck has been down for a couple weeks. Hope this helps.
