Does anyone make a front locker for 3rd gen Tacoma? How big a deal is it to make happen? Does it, if it exists, negatively affect daily driving?

    Thanks, JB

You want the front tire to climb the curb, not be pushed up on it.

Front locker on a ifs front end tends to be bad and increases chances seriously fucking up your truck. Just what I have read.

I don't know if you need it but no a selectable locker up front doesn't affect daily driving at all.

Just a question I wanted an answer to. I have managed to get my Xterra Off Road stuck in a combination of mud and moguls. It has rear locker. I most likely won't pursue it in Taco, though, just pick better lines or "don't go there". Thanks...JB

Mud has the capacity to render even the most well-built, fully locked truck in the world immobile. F**k mud lol.

OP if you are planning on actually wheeling your truck a front locker is good to have at times. You just have to know when to and when not to use it.

Yes you can break stuff if you use it improperly.

Yes you will be able to go up more trails and be easier on your truck than if you just have a rear locker (i had just rear locker to begin with and would have hell getting up some trails, after the front locker i walked right up with very little issues.)

And yes you will want to push your truck harder up more difficult trails...

Ive had my front locker for 2+ years and used it maybe 8-10 times, if i had it to do over again i would still buy one and use it when needed...

Its a double edged sword, if you use it right it will save you and help you out tremendously if you use it wrong it will cost you $$$ to fix the stuff you break.

Front lockers used to be standard on most 4 x 4 's .

    Like, so many.
There are definitely some members on here who have front lockers who do serious trail riding.

Yup! And they used to be manual too lol!
You actually had to go out into the mud and turn a little round gadget to lock each wheel and engage. Mud boots were an option.
I can't picture ppl doing that now, the same ppl that complain about the ride not being like a BMW?? No hell no!

IDK when they started to drop them, but i think when they got rid of solid axles, but not sure.
But sure someone here knows :D

    Cheers!

Had my truck stuck down to the frame in mud twice. Locker and crawl can't help if traction isn't there. I need to get rid of my stock tires..
