    Hi Guys,
Having some problems with the license plate bracket and license frame. Plastic license plate frames will bend or break when going through the car wash rolling brushes. I haven't been able to find a frame that sits flush inside the bracket molding. I hope I'm explaining this correctly.

Is there a frame that sits flush inside the housing, or is there something else I can do to prevent this from happening? TIA - Dave

I would avoid those types of car washes.

Hand wash your vehicle and stop being lazy. You really want dirty brushes that have touched 500 cars earlier that day to whip onto your vehicle with force?

Car wash bent and broke mine too. That is to be expected with car washes, they have to fit all vehicle sizes. Don't use them and start hand washing your truck. That or deal with the possibility of damaging your truck.

    Hi Dave

I think I understand what you mean by bracket and frame, but am not 100% sure so

    Bracket:

    Frame:

    Correct?

The bracket doesnt need a frame, I run mine without. (The local state troopers here give me grief if I use a frame anyway) If you want to rock a frame, however, thats a different story. All I can recommend is finding a different car wash or taking the plate off before running it through the wash.

Those automated car washes are terrible. Handwashing is the best with a soft mitten.
Dont use buckets, just apply soap on the mitten and rinse mitten with hose after each section. Start from roof and work your way down.

Just my .02. Happy friday everyone:cheers::rasta:

Had a car wash blade catch on the metal frame around the plate that I installed and in doing so, ripped off the valance. The car wash took full responsibility and replaced everything to spec. Things happen and automated car washes are notorious for "things happening."

Those rolling brushes scratch the paint. I always use hand-wash only car washes. Unless you want tiny paint swirls and scratches in your paint surface, avoid the swirling brushes at all cost.

Thirty-one states require their motorists to display front license plates and plates on the back of their vehicles.

The “Rugged Nineteen” states that require only one plate include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico. North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia. I hate all you "single plate" states. Vehicles look so much better without a front plate. One of the few things not cool about my state...but I can live with that down vote.

a man should mow his own lawn, and a man should wash his own truck.
seriously though handwash, only way you can piss yourself off finding dents and scratches you never noticed.
