Front hitch mounted snow plow?

Does anyone have experience or advice about using a front hitch mounted snow plow?

Back story... A while back, I rebuilt a Meyer 6' plow kit for my '97 Jeep TJ. I only plow out mine and my in-laws driveways. It worked great and the light weight Jeep handled it fine. I recently sold the Jeep, but still have the plow kit (and the plow bracket for the TJ).

Since the plow kit is from 1972, I'm guessing there's not a readily available bracket to fit it to a 3rd gen Tacoma. I'm finding pictures on the web of folks plowing using a front mounted hitch, and there are front hitches available for the Tacoma that can handle the vertical weight of the plow kit.

I'm confident I can design and weld a solution for attaching the old Meyer kit to a 2" receiver, and maybe shave a fair amount of weight in the process. I'm just not sure of using a hitch mounted snow plows.

If it plows like it tows, forget it. Not to mention the imense fabricating required to get it to work.

I made a mount for my old Tundra using two receiver hitches, one on each frame rail, rather than a single in the middle. It worked well, and made removing most of the frame a quick project when spring arrived.
