My truck with the Mobtown recovery bar I installed. I followed the instructions without taking pictures.

Exactly what I'm looking for. I want the flexibility to move trailer attached to the front / Winch / Snow plow and whatever else. Mobtown looks like a great option but I still wanted to see what else was in the market.

    Thanks for the pics!

I would Not recommend doing that. Snowplow frames mount to the frame of the truck, not where the Mobtown bar mounts to.

I never knew that existed. I plow with my '85 SRW K3500 GMC 6.2 diesel on KO2s o_O with a full hydro foil'd 8' Fisher blade.

    Hey guys,
I love this idea and of course they are sold out. Do you see an issue using this with a winch? I want the hidden winch but I have a warn 9.5ti and it wont fit with the bracket/cross bar in front of the radiator. I also like the idea of keeping this stored inside when not in use. With my luck I won't have the winch with me when I need it.
    Thanks

I went with the Draw-tite front hitch. Not as high as the Mobtown, but works for what i need. Mounts to the frame. I use the Snowsport for my plow. Works excellent. Used it a couple times last year. One question about the Mobtown though, is that too high up for a plow to work correctly?

I'm looking to use it as a winch point not for a plow, even though when I get back to the states I could probably use a plow. seeing that the mobtown has bent on some individuals am not confident if I need to pull myself out of the snow it will be a good choice.

This is the route I went too (although apparently I have no pics of mine installed, I can take some if-needed). I also liked that this hitch goes straight to the frame plus it doesn't involve removing anything other than the lower Spoiler (if your truck has that, the OR's don't). Total install time was less than an hour. I installed a similar one on the front of my Silverado on the same day, although that one required drilling two holes in the frame; the Tacoma one does not require any drilling, although fishing two of the bolts through the frame is fun.

Both of my trailers sit low so I wanted a Receiver which was near the same level. That does mean that occasionally I bump or drag parts of the Receiver when I'm off-road, however I like that it helps prevent damage to the under-side of the front bumper. If it ever became an issue I could un-bolt and remove the center cross-bar of the Receiver very quickly; thus far I haven't needed to do that.

I looked seriously at the Mob Town hitch but eventually passed on it for the following reasons:
*Sits too high for my trailers; I'd need to use a hitch with a long drop which I didn't want to do
    *Cost
*Requires removing and modifying the front bumper
*Issues some members have had with the support brackets on the MT hitch bending
*Mob Town's response to that member/s
*Lead time. I had my hitch in less than a week

I will admit that the Mob Town Receiver is much more hidden but I think what I have is better suited for the way I use it (moving trailers around my yard).

I bet the blade would be rotated down if used with the Mobtow bar causing a bad angle on the cutting edge and pads.

With the Snowsport, you would definitely have to use a drop bar. I have to use 2 inch for my front hitch, but the Mobtown would require a large drop and the rotating force on the hitch when you are pushing a lot of snow could possibly break a high mounted hitch receiver.

CBI used to make a 3rd Gen front receiver hitch, but their website now only shows a 2nd Gen hitch.

    I installed the Mobtown hitch.
It was a bitch since a couple of the holes did not line up.

Yep 4x Innovations is where to get one nowadays. I have one and it's exactly what I needed. A bit of a pain to put the winch cradle on and get it hooked up but it works.

They should put the receiver in front of the grill for easier access.
