1300kms and already having front end noises. FFS.

I'm hearing a pop or light clunk when the truck is going over any undulations in the road. No noise when road is smooth. More prominent at low speed.

Taking it in tomorrow but what could this be? Anyone else have something like this so early?

Strange thing is it has went away (for now). It was clunking/popping over every bump with a noticeable feeling under my foot like something just fell out the bottom of the truck.

And on my ride around this afternoon it was gone, couldn't replicate it...what the hell is going on.

There are a whole lot of people with this issue and I've heard of multiple different causes, I've convinced myself it's the plastic on the front end but I can't be sure, annoys the piss outta me! delaership says it's the plastic in the grille they went through everything and couldn't find anything loose. I really would love to pin point what the noise is. Lemme know what you come up with.

sub'd. I have the same issue, and it's random. Sounds/feels somewhere in the lower front drivers side area of the truck.

If ya think it's plastic rubbing, how about spraying some lubricant at the places plastic pieces touch each other......?? A can of rust check or fluid film might work for that..!!

There's a ridiculous amount of plastic in the front of the sr, so many different places it could be. when it warms up I'm planning on getting some tape on a few places to see if the sound changes

OP did you ever find out the issue? I had literally the exact same thing happen to me. Gone as fast as it appeared. Heard it distinctly from the passenger side.

    Work in progress...
Check the coil assembly, upper 3 nuts and the lower mounting bolts. Check the skid plate bolts. Make sure the hood is latched. Some times it's a simple fix, lets hope.

After numerous attempts I think they've finally nailed it.

Dealer replaced the front strut/spring assembly on both sides and its been about 500km and I have yet to hear the noise.

Not sure if you're in canada or the US but You can always have your dealer call mine and let them convince yours to replace the front struts before you waste any more time on it like I did

I have a 2018 Tacoma TRD Offroad. In the last year I noticed a clunking noise when I hit a speed bump at slow speeds (5mph). Sounds like someone dropping a screwdriver in the front driver's side wheel well. It is not consistent. I can hit a speed bump and hear it. Then immediately hit another speed bump and nothing.

CHeck your brake calipers, mine did this on my 2017 and toyota "claimed" it was normal. The calipers like get stuck inward and when you go over a bump they spring out.

I have a 2021 now with almost no issues. I had so many little things wrong with my 2017 that I got it fing lemond under california lemon law and got my full 40k back and 30k miles for free. Dont just bend over and take it from toyota take the fight to them if you got a crappy product.

Have a similar issue with me 2020, 9000kms. I thought it was my lift lit but the sound feel like something moving when I go over speed bumps at certain times. Metal on metal sound.
