Anyone know the front coil stock spring rates of the different models?

I’ve searched, really cannot find anything definitive as in 650lb, 700lb, etc.

    The TRD OR is 700#.
The 3rd gen frontend is 300lbs heavier than a 2nd gen and 2nd gen spring rates rate from 600-650.

Roll with a 700# on the 3rd gens to avoid sagging over time

On a 2nd gen. Stock Sport was ~550lbs. Pro was 600 lbs.

Toytec did testing when 3rd gens first came out. I believe ORs are 712 lb/inch. I have no idea if the other models are all the same though.

Not sure, it may be 650#. I know the sport shocks are stiffer than the OR due to their valving and being designed for street

I’m running Sport coils with 5100’s at 1.1” lift (200lbs on front dropped it 1/2”). If the OR springs are heavier I’d consider them at some point.

Why not just get OME coils, are some other aftermarket? The benefit to doing so would be the ability to run your 5100's in the stock position and rely on the coils fr your lift, resulting in better ride quality.

I’ve read a lot about most OME coils sagging over time with added weight on the front.

I wouldn't run anything less than 700# coils on the 3rd gen. I have been running 700# Eibachs and they are cherry

Agreed, that’s why I’m trying to find out if the stock Sport coils are 700#

Totally agree, my 5100/888 combo has sagged 3/4" in a little over a year. The only added weight I have is an SOS front skid, but the 888's aren't designed for added weight. The 886's are meant for added weight. Seeing that the 3rd gen OE springs are 700lb, I probably should have gone with 886's regardless... and may actually make that swap.

    • OME 883: 375mm in height, 590 pound spring rate
    • OME 884: 390mm in height 590 pound spring rate
    • OME 885: 395mm in height 590 pound spring rate
    • OME 886: 402mm in height 660 pound spring rate
    • OME 887: 400mm in height 590 pound spring rate
    • OME 888: 405 mm in height 590 pound spring rate

That’s what I’ve seen that all OME coils are basically less than 600#

I’m ok with stock coils, just trying to see if they’re different rates with the different models.

Yah, I have had experience with these coils and they are all too low of coil weights for these trucks. OME preloads the snot out of these coils on their shocks, but the ride suffers and they still sag over time.

I had 886s with nothing added but sliders and they snagged around a full inch. I wouldn’t swap to them and expect anything much better than what you have now

I'm beginning to realize the same. I must say, I really like the ride quality but the sag is killing me from a looks perspective. I've seen so many posts of people complaining about ride quality with OE coils and 5100's in the top or 2nd from top position, so I've relied on the coils to get my lift. Now I'm contemplating a couple small spacers, same thing used for Taco lean, to get my height back. But it seems like I should go back to the drawing board and get some heavier coils, close to 700lb. Guess I'll compare all of the Dobinson, OME, and Eibach coils.

I just installed a Dobinsons front setup yesterday night obviously I need to drive it more but miles better than my 5100-Ome coil setup

Which ones did you go with and what is your lift now vs OME? Obviously only time will tell on the sag of the Dobinsons.

OP, my apologies for the derailment. This is exactly the kind of info I have been searching for in recent months and hadn't come up with much. It's also new info to me that the factory OR coils are 700lb.

Theres no way the 3rd gen front end is 300lbs heaver... its literally the same as a 2nd gen, as far as structure and heavy stuff like engine block etc.
