Not sure if this has been addressed before, I STFA'd but maybe didn't have the correct terms.
This is also on a new 2020 and appears during low speed movements (stopping/parking).
Is it possible to remove the upper 'triangle' in the front camera view? It's clearly a software based mask, as there is no decal on the camera and you can see through it albeit poorly. Here is a picture of what I mean:

I wonder what the purpose of that triangle is for? Doesnt look like it does anything but block the front view.

I'm sure they do that so you can't use it to drive the truck. Just more nanny-features.

It maybe to block the front so you don't use it to drive your truck around.

From a quick read of how the "bird's eye" view works, by 4 wide angle cameras stitching together a view. I think the triangle you're seeing is where the wide angle lens's view is lost or too distorted. It looks like your front view is not a single camera, pointed forward, but a camera on each corner, and combined as one view.

This is my guess, and I'm gonna follow this thread to see what else is found.

Edit: Re-read OP's post. Didn't realize you could slightly see thru the masked image.

I'm not 100% sure of that. It looks like the car in front (another white pickup?) is ghosted under the triangle?

I reached out to the sales rep... hoping there may be a setting or tweak I can make.

There is a single front facing camera in the grill.
The 'overhead' view on the far right is stitched together from the four inputs.
As far as I can tell the front view is just the front camera.

    Yup, exactly right.

The feature is called panoramic view.
The ad on the web site shows the triangle too.

Haha you'd be surprised how well you can drive on an 8" display.

    Well is an opinion too

I noticed this on a 2020 that I test drove recently so I'm sure it's how it is setup normally. I don't know why it is there but you can see through it as it is greyed over.

It appears this is indeed an intended masking. I wonder how long until someone releases a 'patch.'

So it's pretty much used so you don't use it to see vehicles further away since it's misleading. I can attest to that as I installed a front camera and vehicles seem much further away when looking through the camera. If you used it to drive, you would not be able to stop in time..

Hey all, first post on this forum. I too have Bird's Eye, but I have a different complaint. When in reverse, the backup camera image is awful. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just an issue with the 2020's with Bird's Eye? My buddy's 2017 doesnt have Bird's Eye, and his camera image looks beautiful. I went to the dealership and all 2020's with the Bird's Eye setup looked like crap. You can see in these pictures that the image is warped, blurry, and the edges are all but useless. I didn't really care about the Bird's Eye feature, but it happened to be on the truck I wanted. I'd give up the feature for a better backup image. It's also VERY blurry at night and lights create bright glowing halos no-matter how I adjust the image settings.

First of all welcome to the forum :hattip:

I don't have a 2020, but it looks like you can select birds eye or backup camera in the lower left and your current view is birds eye.

Thanks! Sadly that button just turns on and off the side cameras. I can choose backup only, which is what the image shows, or I can see the side camera as well when backing up. In either mode, the backup camera image is the same.

I do agree. The backup camera feels like it's barely 480p resolution. A friends Tesla uses a 4k backup camera.
The image quality difference is tremendous. I wonder if we could swap out the camera with a better unit.
I tried cleaning the lens and even checking if there was a plastic cover on it. Unfortunately, it didn't get any better.
