Just search the internet. That is what I did a couple of years ago when I replaced mine. Mine was OEM with color keyed with the rest of the truck. But the problem was that the material was so soft that with the road driving, it ended up being pitted and torn plastic because it was so soft. SO, and since I actually wanted to the center valance to be black to look better on the truck, I searched the internet and bought an aftermarket one for about $89 as you said. It might have even been a little cheaper, around $75. I can't remember. But I do know it was not hard to replace and looks SO much better than the OEM color keyed one! By the way, the replacement after market one also was of better quality with a harder texture, so I have not had any problems with pitting since I installed it.

Good to know... I found OEM to be part number 5391104210 and available in the $150 range. I wouldn't mind black. If you ever find where you sourced yours I'd be interested to know.

Yeah, I tried looking for it last week when someone else was talking about it in another post. I could not find anything on it in my files! However, I did come across a pic I took of before and after on my truck, and it made a world of difference, in looks alone! I will attach that pic for your perusal. But honestly, do a search and you will come up with many sites that sell them. The after pic is on the left and the OEM one is on the right. To me, having it black just gave it "balance"!By the way, this was before I changed out my OEM headlights too. They look WAY better now! [see my profile pic!]

Thank you sir - my truck is Magnetic Grey so black would not be bad at all.

RockAuto.com has one for $78 but shipping is $45. I will keep poking around.

Did the same thing, the pitting from rocks and such got so bad after a year... I tried using the touch-up pen on it and it only made it worse. It looked like shit. So i sucked it up and bought an unpainted one from toyota for $150.

It has been a year and since the black one is unpainted there is no paint to get chipped and it still looks good since it is black plastic. whatever you pay for it will be worth it. That is they way they should have come from the factory since it is in a position to get chips and scratches from road stuff and the black plastic does not show it.

Thanks for this comment. When I got mine, it came primed black, and I honestly didn't know if I needed to paint it or not! I decided though, to just put a coat of plastidip on it before I installed it, because I liked the texture of plastidip. Anyway, like yours, mine has held up with no problems, unlike the OEM one!

I went out there and found the video that I used to help in the replacement of the front lower center panel. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGD1iJzDGHU

Still all in my head… but I’m keeping the chrome bumper!
I’m a week behind you. Waiting for one from the dealer to come in. The dealer is providing a new one since they destroyed it putting on the license plate bracket, because thats so hard right‍♂️. Gonna put it in myself. Won’t let them have round two on my rig. Any advice you could share after your install would be rad. Happy knuckle busting.

Sure thing, watch this space! I already have the tracking number and ordered spare clips from Amazon just in case. Looks like I'll have a few extras.

My memory is it's super simple. Just take your time and those 2 blue clips were really the only challenge I remember. I just cut the "loop" the blue clips insert into instead of trying to work the clips out. If you're tossing your old valance, there isn't any reason to try to preserve it. Path of least resistance. :)

Same thing happened to me. And, like you, I chose to swap the valance myself.

They put it on with an impact wrench. I don’t know what those guys think sometimes. Looks like Swiss cheese behind the plate, I wish I wasn’t the guy that was bothered by those things. I called the dealer and now they won’t ship it out to me and said I need to bring it in and they’d replace the part. I said no, you couldn’t put on the f’n license plate bracket, don’t think you’re qualified to pull a bumper

Easy job if they’ll give it to you. At least put the license plate bracket on yourself. There are dimples in the valance for where to drill. I drilled pilot holes first. Easy peasy. No impact wrench needed.

OP here, the valance and spare clips both arrived today. Not bad, two days for the valance from an eBay seller.
I'll possibly get to it tomorrow, Saturday for sure.

I made the swap yesterday. The videos were very helpful but I did struggle a bit with the upper clips; but after 20-30 minutes of manipulation the old one came free. The new one went on pretty easily. I didn't need any of the clips I ordered. I also struggled a little getting the grill back on, mostly with aligning the bottom clips but I'm sure the "next time" will be easier.

And I think there will be a next time. I'm not real happy with this one as there is a noticable gap on the driver's side outside edge which shouldn't be given that the blue clip is supposed to pull that side in. Probably no one but me will ever notice though. I will probably order an OEM valance but not for a while.

Thanks to everyone who provided input!
