Howdy! First time posting here, so bare with me. Purchased my first truck which is a 2021 Tacoma SR just a few weeks ago. It was snowing here in CO, and I unfortunately got into it with a stop sign that is seconds away from my home. The damage isn't terrible thankfully, but it did some damage to my front bumper cover. After getting an estimate from Toyota they quoted me at 273$ for the part and roughly 200-300$ to have it color matched. Figure I might as well upgrade bumpers at this point in time for a few more bucks. While searching today I stumbled upon a used bumper and am considering it.

This is where I need some help:

Will the bumper run all the way up to the bottom of my headlights?

Can I install this on a stock SR with no mods? – wondering specifically about my clearance.

Bumper is modeled for 16-20’ does my 2021 fit into that category?

I have stock suspension, so would I need to cut through anything?

Also would love to hear your personal opinion as to how the truck will "look" with this being the only mod.

Specs are in the added files:

Looking forward to hearing from y'all. Thanks in advance.

I swear I saw this exact post last month but can't find any evidence of it. Anyway...

Will the bumper run all the way up to the bottom of my headlights? If it does in the pictures, it will on your vehicle.

Can I install this on a stock SR with no mods? – wondering specifically about my clearance. Yes, though it may look like your vehicle has a goiter.

Bumper is modeled for 16-20’ does my 2021 fit into that category? Yes, nothing major changed between the 20s and 21s.

I have stock suspension, so would I need to cut through anything? No, don't cut through any suspension components.

Also would love to hear your personal opinion as to how the truck will "look" with this being the only mod.
My worthless personal opinion: it looks horrendous. Whenever I see trucks with hideous fab four bumpers I think of people that wear those oddly specific facebook t-shirts and think they look badass. If you're chopping the bumper, I'd go with a C4 hybrid but that's just me.

I agree with everything you said...

However, the C4 bumper won't replace the damaged bumper section near the fender.

Oh dear. I saw red and forgot the assignment. I look forward to seeing suggestions that replace that section as I can't think of any.

OP, look into bumper stitches. Perfect solution into that damage and if done right, looks pretty cool.

Then really research your bumper choices (there's tons of options).

There's a few, but unfortunately, they all look like garbage. They're just too big and follow zero body lines.

C4 hybrid is my eventually choice for my truck. Till then I'll rock my SSO Slimline.

Thanks for the reply, and honest opinion! I would like to take the "cheap way out", but there are just not many options clearly... I just can't imagine replacing the cover only to cut into it when I do purchase a front bumper, haha. But it's beginning to seem like that might be my best option in the long run. I've also been reading up on suspension, and the need for an upgrade from stock shocks to aftermarket shocks when installing a bumper as heavy as this one is. I appreciate the info, and will be sure to follow up with my final decision!

Haha love the idea! He made that look pretty clean. Leaning towards eating the bumper cover replacement $$ seeing how I'm not ready to upgrade my suspension. Thanks for the share though!

I'm in the market for a new front bumper myself and am looking at the steelcraft fortis, but not much photos exist (if at all) except for the front view. I want a side shot showing the bodyline transition at the fender meets bumper. Do you have one?

Couldn’t you run the C4 Hybrid bumper and R4T bumper caps and solve the problem of the bumper not fixing where the bumper meets the fender?

I'll look into that, I'm pretty new to 3rd gens so I'm not sure about what options there are available. Obviously looks come before functionality righto_O so my problem is that I beat the upper corner of my OEM bumper so bad it would need to be replaced to do a hybrid where the upper portion of the bumper is cut and left in place just below the headlight.
The only bumpers that I have found so far that include that piece are Fab fours(11ga, $~1,700) and the steelcraft (6ga, ~$1,000) I like the steel craft a little more because of the shape of the fog light cutout, but the size and weight are disappointing to not be compatible with a winch (I mean really?!? 6 ga and no winch, I wonder if modifications could be made:confused:) I don't need a winch and never have so it's not a deal breaker.
Anyway, I'm ready to spend some money so I don't have to look at at my smashed truck any more than I have to.
    Thanks for any input y'all.

I’ve ordered a Steelcraft Fortis HD, because of the body fit (at least the pics). Anybody installed one yet? I can’t find a weight anywhere, but I assume it’s got to be several hundred pounds.

    Welcome to Tacomaworld!

Sorry to hear about your run-in with the stop sign. Aftermarket bumpers have come a long way and some really add something aside from adding function. At the risk of ruffling any feathers...

Friends don't let friends buy that bumper in the original post. Holy hell... that thing is trying way too hard. It's like a person who is wearing a prosthetic forehead. Hahaha.

But, others have pointed to some WAY better options. You can get a great looking replacement and buy those bumper caps to fill in the gaps. Good luck, and let us know what you decide. You should check out the armor section here. But there are lots of good options out there that are better ways to spend your money. C4, Relentless, At The Helm come to mind.

    Cheers!
