I searched a ton on this and was never able to find a definitive answer. For all of you that have removed your front bumper, I could use your help. I need to remove the front bumper cover to get my headlights out. How do I actually remove the cover? Is it pretty straight forward? Any pics or anything to help?

I haven't removed mine but I believe you start by removing grill and the fender flares have to be
unclipped about a third of their length from the front .

Hmmm you could look up install instructions for aftermarket bumpers. Most require you to remove all that stuff so I'm sure their directions have it. I'll see if I can find something. I try searching for the ARB summit bar instructions and SSO instructions.

Ah shit I just realized you are third gen...I don't think any of this will be helpful.

I have removed my headlights many times, you don't need to remove the front bumper. There are THREE bolts for your headlights though, the third bolt is hidden inside the fender that connects the light and the fenders together. The best way to access this is to go in your fender well and pop out 2-3 of the black liner supports from the front. By removing these supports in the liner, it will give you enough room to move the liner a little bit to the side to gain access to the bolts on the bottom portion of your bumper sides. From there I would unbolt the bottom two bolts that connect the side portion of the bumper to the truck. After you do this, you can slowly pop out the sides of the bumper enough to get access to that pesky third bolt. After I installed new headlights I simply left these bolts off, but do what you want. Anyway the beginning process is to remove the grill with the bolts in the engine bay and getting all the push pins. After that you should be able to wiggle the bottom portion of the grill out as it is connected by six big clips. Also you will have to remove the pieces underneath your headlights before taking the headlights out. Feel free to hit me with any questions, I have my lights to where I can remove them in like 2 min now.

A couple things that I want to point out for the person that may be doing the same thing I did tonight... First, once you've pulled the bumper you'll notice a few things. The first is why you have to remove the bumper to get your headlight out. The bolt is below:

    IMG_0316.jpg

Next, once you remove that bolt, you'll notice that the headlight is in a channel that can't be pulled out (this is on the inside of the light - closest to the engine)... took me a minute to figure out why I couldn't get the stupid light out...

    IMG_0314.jpg

On the other side of the channel, you'll find a plastic rivet that needs to be removed then you can pull the plastic panel out of the way so you can slide the headlight housing off the channel.

    IMG_0315.jpg

Once done, you can pull the headlight out - repeat on the other side and you end up with this...

    Hope this helps someone else!

Oh, also, I busted 2 tabs pulling the fender flares away from the bumper. Be SUPER careful with that crap. If you can, reach under the wheel well and try to push them from the inside. Did not come off smoothly for sure. Gorilla glue to the rescue!

What holds the front bumper in place? Like the mounting points? My front bumper saved down an inch and wondering what holds it together so I can figure out what I have to fix
