I am about to change the fluids in my front and rear diff. Where can I buy the crush washers or gaskets that I need to put around the drain bolts? I am lost.

    Thank you!

I've changed the oil in my diffs no less than 4 times and never changed the crush washers. Maybe when I change them another 6 more times I'll do it. If this is the first time you're doing it then you really don't need to buy them. Practical experience is telling me changing them every single time is not only unnecessary but overkill. Just clean the bolt, washer, and mating surface and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the reply. I figured I probably should change them since the truck is 20 years old, but maybe I won't do it this time.

Crush washers will get worn out but only with repeated loosening and tightening.

Replace them. They’re like $3 for a pack of 2 at Advance Auto Parts. I want to say it’s 14mm?

If you are like me and forget to buy them till you drain your diffs, then don't worry about it. But if you're planning to do it in the future just replace them

I've got well over 200K & I've never replaced the washers for the diff or trans. I replaced the oil pan once but not with an oem one, I made my own out of copper.

I'll replace them one day, keep forgetting. Just changed oil for the diff & trans yesterday, like others, I remembered while the oil was draining.

There is a pack with all of them on Amazon. Just search toyota diff crush washers, should pop up. Its like 7 dollars with prime shipping.
