I thought I'd be able to find an existing thread but maybe I'm not searching correctly... was the whole frame rust issue resolved by Toyota before they built the 2015 year models?

No one is EXACTLY sure when Toyota "fixed" the frame rust issue with the Tacoma. The first generation of Tacomas had the biggest issue with the frames rotting out from underneath. It seems that the 2005 Models had some issues with rust by the catalytic converter. I wouldn't worry about it on the 2015 because they have had 10+ years to redesign the components. Plus, I haven't heard of anyone having issues with their 2015 frames.

Well, they're not even a year old.

There are 2013s with rust issues, despite the "fix."

Again just another reason to show Toyota could give two fucks about it's owners. They know these things sell themselves all day long. But yet they still have shitty wheel bearings, shitty leafs, rattling headrests, rusting frames, drive line vibrations which they state is corrected on the new 2016 Tacoma.

Wow... I thought my asking was perfunctory at best. Wouldn't have believed that there STILL may be a problem. Neat. I guess I'll just stay off salt sprayed roads.

Just maintain the frame and you're better off in the long run, regardless.

I'd rather protect my investment than hedge my bets that Toyota won't fail me in 10 years.

I thought I read the recall was from 2005 to 2008 or 2009 trucks. I've got a 2010 & I seem to recall it not being in the campaign.

The frame issue isn't necessarily Toyota's fault. Toyota doesn't produce the frames. Dana Corp did.

Toyota doesn't necessarily make the leaf springs, or the wheel bearings either.....

At least Toyota is covering it by offering a warranty/frame replacements.

They recognize the issues, yet they did nothing this entire time to rectify the issues which they blatantly knew about. What bullshit right?

I thought Tacomas and 4runners sat on the same frame. I could be wrong.

They might not make them but they definitely know they are junk. But yet still continue to use sub par parts on our trucks.
