I was in changing my front pads and rotors today and notice my passenger side Fox 2.0 coilover had been leaking.

Who have people used in the past to rebuild these? I’d prefer to ship the whole coilover, from what i’ve heard a spring compressor doesnt fit these coils because they’re too close together. The coils themselves rusted from the inside out, Fox actually sent me replacements for free so i’ll have those put on at the same time.

I’d rebuild them myself but it looks like you need to fill them with gas.

    BUMP.

Still unsure what to do about this. I'm going to order the seal kit but I'm not sure if local suspension shops could do a job like this?

I can rebuild them but with shipping, ect it might not be worth it in the end.

I checked with Fox, it's $75 per shock and 15 days to have them rebuilt plus shipping both ways.

I don't see where you can buy 2.0 replacement shocks for the coilovers. I would think it would be quite a bit more than that. I see they have a new snap ring model like the billsteins but mine are the threaded coilovers

Great, glad they can get you taken care of. You spoke with someone on the phone about that price?

Thats what the website lists as a price, they don't give you an actual quote until they recieve them.

That being said, I'm going to have to wait to have them rebuilt I need them within the next month for a hunting trip. If I could buy just the new shock for $250 I would but it doesn't look like they sell the model I have by itself.

I would contact someone at Fox to confirm that info. The pricing I see on their site refers to a "2.0 IFP" not a "2.0 IFP Coilover".

Hopefully not, but I would definitely get an accurate price before making a decision. Often times we get shocks sent in for service work and ends up needing more work than expected.

This may be a stupid question but how worried do I need to be about a slight bit of oil coming out as pictured? Typically i'm not a procrastinator and I always to PM but this time around I may have to run it for two weeks on a trip before I can park the rig for 4 weeks. I'm not well versed on suspension internals.

In short, its not good :)

You loose oil, loose Nitrogen, loose pressure and lubricant, heat will start forming and then things will get worse and worse to the point the shock cannot be rebuilt very easily. Hard to say how much oil you lost, and its not very easy to add nitrogen to the these IFP coilovers...

Fox said $85 plus and additional parts that may need to be replaced.
