I was in a hurry and had things to get to and needed to change the oil. I forgot to drop and replace the oil filter. I use 0 20 Mobil one. This put a bit of used oil in the mix. I started the truck before I realized this. So its mixed in. Should I just run or just take the hit and change it again.

Change the filter then in a week change just the filter again if you want. It’s fine

If you haven’t changed the filter, do it and top off the oil. Honestly, not a big deal.

Just change the filter and drive it normally until your next oil change. You can't get all of the old oil out anyway. A tiny bit more won't hurt.

It'll be ok. When you drain the oil, there's still a lot of residual oil all up in there. The tiny bit in your old filter is negligible. Just replace and top off.

It's worth the price of changing the oil again if it gives you peace of mind, nothing wrong with that.

What interval? If you aren’t towing or hauling all the time you can miss a filter one time. Just do it the next time and don’t forget next time. Not the end of the world for a broken in engine.

I would have just drained back into the jug, replaced filter, and dumped oil back in...plus whatever amount needed to top off.

When I had a 2nd gen (2011) the filter was upside down in the engine bay...so changes were REALLY easy.

I know better than that. I also once poured in the oil and forgot to put in the plug. Another screw up. Happens when I am doing too much and not paying attention. I change it every 5000 so not like I change it every 3

There is a little hack you can also do with a shop vac, takes two people tho unless you're a mad contortionist.
Open oil fill plug, cover with a shop rag, put shop vac hose over fill plug and use more shop rags to seal it on there. Turn it on and remove the filter. The shop vac creates suction (duh) holding the oil in the engine. Maybe a few drops will be lost, but the trick works. Used it many times when I worked at a lube shop.

Been there! Luckily caught myself before I poured the whole jug in. We all do dumb stuff. Especially smart people. Smart people do the dumbest things of all.
