Sorry if this has been posted already, last night couldn't fall asleep and got on YouTube and came across this video. I suppose they could offer points for when I'll have a canoe on top...opinions guys!

I would be hesitant to add anything that hangs down below the front or rear bumper. It may not be an issue for you if you do not off road.

Yes, but they appear to be a tad above the hitch line, they may even offer some protection to bottom on bumper caps...cool idea nonetheless, I think.

I've always put the slug in the receiver, for a tie-down/pulling point

I have that same step in my hitch. I have it mainly to deter tailgaters after I got rear ended a couple years ago

I was intrigued when I saw Rob's video. But then I went out and looked at my truck and saw how these tow hooks would fit. The way he installed them, they would stick out past the bumper. Not good.

And these loops are fixed. For the same amount of effort, you could install the Demon brackets intended for the front of the Tundra, and have hinged shackles in the rear.

If you're going to use the side plate of the trailer hitch as a mounting point, as he does, you could just as well put shackles through the rear tie-down holes. You wouldn't need a bracket at all.

As far as strength, this is worse than the Demon brackets in the front.

Anyway, it's a bad idea. Don't do it.
