Picked my truck up yesterday and imediately installed the Weathertech mud guards. Great quality and fit. Install was about 3 min per wheel and they look like they will provide excellent overage. No drilling required.

I’ve been waiting for Husky or WeatherTech to come out with mud guards. Husky doesn’t offer anything for SR or SR5 yet. These WeatherTech have the option of with fender flares or without. They also look like they are longer than the Husky’s. Thanks for posting this.

I took some measurements and pics. I measured from the bottom of the Offroad black fender flares to the bottom of the Husky mudflap. I also measured widths.

The Husky rear flaps are 11.75” long, and 10.5” wide. The front flap is 11” long and 11” wide.

If @cvillechopper could measure the same way, we’ll have a good comparison.

The first four pics are the rear, the next three are the front.

    This should be interesting!!!
My eyeballs tell / show me that the Huskies got more side protection, sticking out by the fender flares, which is the war zone We’re all worried about at this point….
I’m going to speculate and say the Huskies might be longer also, but really hard to tell from pictures…

The OP has a job and doesn't get home until after dark this time of year. I'll try to get some measurements if I get home before dark or maybe this weekend. No need to get snarky.

    Thanks for helping-out cvillechopper...
Would also be cool to see a side profile'ish pic so we can see what they look like from the other direction.
Do they have lip like the stock oem ones or just a smooth flat finish on the front?

I'll try and snap several different angles while I am getting measurements. If you zoom in on the pic with the entire truck in it you can see that these have a little bit of a lip but it isn't as sharp as the OEM ones from what i can tell. I've never seen any sturdy mud guards that don't have a lip for stability. Flaps, sure, but not rigid guards. There are certainly pros and cons to each type. If I did rock climbing or severe off roading on a frequent basis I would not recommend these. Catch them on a rock and it is going to rip some stuff. Likely these are tougher than what they are attached to...

I do see that, now that you pointed it out…
It’s on the smaller side, aesthetically that’s great!

“If @cvillechopper could measure the same way, we’ll have a good comparison.”

    That request wasn’t snarky.

You could have just said yesterday during your visits to the forum you would. Then I would not have been snarky this morning.

At this point I don’t really care. The weathertec mudflaps are way overpriced anyway.

this isn't fair to OP - he was clearly and accurately referring to your post below. he doesn't owe you or us anything; this is an internet forum, and like the rest of us, he has a real life that comes first. i will be grateful to see the comparison if and when he is still willing to do it.

The Weathertech fronts and backs are the same. Right at 10 1/4" wide and 11 1/4" down from the edge of the fender flare. I can't tell if the width of the Husky's starts further to the inside or outside but it looks like they are a touch wider and longer.

Theblip on the Weathertech is definitely much smaller which I prefer for aesthetics.

    thanks for playing!!!
looks like sizes are somewhat relatively the same, give or take...
Bigger than stock mudflaps which do nothing...
I also really do like the smaller lip visually & traps less dirt..

Which tires do you have. Can't quite tell from my phone. Looks like a good compromise between a dedicated off road tire and a highway tire.

BFG Trail Terrain. Can with the truck. I am interested to see how they perform in the snow.

So digging deeper into this mudflap thing, reached out to WeatherTech, and requested their own images of their Tacoma specific mudflap images. Apparently they don’t have any and they’re nonexistent…
Almost $200 for mudflaps and they can’t provide a customer of an image of their product actually on a specific truck for what it’s intended for…
For that reason, alone, and their customer service department, they’re not getting my money…
They keep sending me pictures of what looks like stock OEM Toyota mudflaps and they state that’s all they have…
Looks nothing like what was posted here, joke…

LOL. For what it's worth, that is the worst reasoning I have ever heard of. spend your money as you wish but making decisions based on not liking the pictures a manufacturer has is not the logical approach when you have other information at hand. Good luck with whatever you decide on.
