For those with a 2.5 Gen and an ARB bumper, does this look right or is something off?

Hey guys, I’m having my bodyshop install an ARB instead of replacing my front bumper that was totaled by a deer. It just came in and was installed today. As my bumper was totaled I do not have the trim piece that helps to fill in the gap as well as the small trim pieces below both lights. I do plan on buying a bumper at some point, trimming it and filling in the gap but that is way down the road.
Here’s my question, I knew that without the trim piece the gap would be pronounced, I was expecting this. I just want to get y’all’s perspective though, does this looks right to y’all (gap wise), minus the missing trim pieces? Does this look like it was installed correctly?

I don't have anything super helpful, but I do know that there are two versions of the ARB bumper for 2nd gens: 05-11 and 12-15. Are you sure this is for the 2.5 gen? If my memory serves correctly, I think the 2.0 gen ARB on a 2.5 gen just sits a little closer to the engine bay, resulting in a slightly shorter truck - I don't remember it being at a different height.

It does look a bit low with how large the gap is between the bumper wings and the remaining fender flare.

Yeah that looks too pronounced. I test drove a second Gen with an ARB bumper and it sat pretty flush overall.

Good question, I’m not 100%, and wondered the same thing. So I checked the instructions the body shop had from ARB and the 2.5 Gen bumper part number was at the top of the form. There was no part number on the bumper that I could see, I’m sure it’s somewhere on there, just not sure where. My understanding is that the 2.0 version would be a tighter and closer fitting feel, which is why some 2.5 owners go with the 2.0 ARB. The fact that there is a pronounced gap leads me to believe this is fact the right bumper. Plus the body shop said installation was smooth sailing. I believe there is a bit of modding to fit the 2.0 ARB on the 2.5 Gen truck.

So I found this, for some perspective with the trim piece. There’s definitely a gap, just wondering if mine seems a bit excessive or if it’s close to the mark.

I’m installing a 2.5gen arb bumper on my 2.5gen Tacoma tomorrow. I can get some pics of how we mount it and maybe you can compare to how the shop is mounting yours. That gap on yours looks a little excessive compared to all the other pics of 2.5 bumpers I’ve seen

Do you have a photo of the gap for the passenger side? Can they shim it up?

I don’t but I can get one, maybe tomorrow.
I eye measured both sides and they appeared to be the same. I was worried one side might be off but they looked exact.
What do you mean shim it up?

Here’s what the bumper looked like on my 2013. I had the trim piece, and if I’m remembering right it actually tucked behind the bumper just like an 1/8” or something so there was no gap at all. E4618AC2-AD92-48E5-844E-5020CA1A9BF4.jpg94D537BB-DFAA-42A5-8BE5-0ABF4ECB33BE.jpg

It looks like his is maybe 1/2" lower. Cutting and leaving the lower bumper makes all the difference.

So speaking of that gap you mentioned.
Here is this guys, see where the red is directly beneath that black rubber piece. It looks to be positioned the same on mine. In regards to where the bumper sits in relation to it.
That being said the gap you outlined seems to be a bit smaller on some of the other member posted photos.

Yea it looks like mine needs a bit of micro-adjusting.
