Welp final product here... I personally really liked them... my wife liked them which is always a plus... and they might be top 2 of things I have cooked on my green Mt grill so far(only had it 2 months now).

My pleasure! Thanks for the continued support. Looking forward to the results. It's like riding a bike, once you've gained the skill, it never really escapes you ;).

@Bigdaddy4760 is about an hour and 10 minutes northwest of me. @Misplaced Nebraskan is about 3 hours south of me according to Google. About 2 hours and 15 minutes according to Zach's right foot . He strolled into the backyard and startled me while I was weedeating.

Yesterday was what this whole thing is all about. Zach took time out of his schedule to drive up here to hang out. He brought a special cut of meat to cook (he'll share later, I'm sure), a WONDERFUL bottle of whiskey (George T. Stagg ) and hung out all day Saturday. The icing on the cake was Maner driving down from his place to join us. We had some drinks, ran an errand to the motorcycle shop one of our cooks works at, talked Tacomas, BBQ, whiskey, life, and everything else. Some of my buddies came by to meet Zach and Maner. We talked about people we know through this forum, we talked about get-togethers that we want to organize, we cracked jokes, and Zach drank a fly .

Incredible community here on TW and @Misplaced Nebraskan and @Bigdaddy4760 are proof positive of it. Standup dudes. I can't express how much fun and relaxation I had this weekend. Zach and I finished his cook about 4 hours later than expected, then rolled right in to prepping a brisket that went in one of my smokers at about 12:30 a.m. Got some shuteye, woke up and tended to the pit some more while chatting and relaxing off last night's whiskey (we had a lot ). Packed up, put the finished meat in the Cambro (brisket, armadillo eggs, pork belly burnt ends), then went to another buddy's house who has the most bonkers collection of whiskey I've ever seen. Zach got to meet Matt and get a feel for what he's working on before heading home.

    What a great, great weekend.

Have a slight brown/rust coloration on the broiler plate of my new pit Boss pro. Anyone else get this. Only a few runs in.

Also, do you guys wrap the broiler plate in foil?

sounds like it may just be oxidation?

I wrap the plate on my pit in foil and change out every couple of cooks, depending on how much accumulation it gets

Hour and ten for Maner? You sure about that? I’m pretty sure that’s how long it takes just to get out of his driveway.

Glad you all had a good time. This place is filled with great people who support each other in many ways. You’ll have the occasional jerk here and there but that’s just life.
