Just passing along my observation. Love fluid film, been coating my truck underbody for years. Works great mostly. After about 5 years (coating each fall) it has fallen off some forward facing areas (front facing section of gas tank shield, front face of lower control arms, front face of rear axle....) in big sheets of solidified material - taking the underlying paint off in some places, leaving bear metal. Sort of what I saw with wax oil which I used on another vehicle years ago, which flaked off after 2 seasons. So just keep an eye on if of you have been using FF for a long time.

Are you washing off and re-applying each year or just spraying fluid film on top?

I would not use fluid film on painted metal.

I would clean that up .....rust convert....and two coats of chassis specific paint.....

I use the FF inside the box rails......and I use a lot of it....

JUst went and bought a can today......wally has it in the bonus size for 9.97.....15oz...

I also use it on bolt heads.....and exposed threads........especially on non oem cheap ass parts......

Its advertised as lubricant.....that's also a solvent ......just like wd-40.....
only worse......wd-40 evaps away....the FF just sits there and eats.........

And then get use to hosing your frame off.....frequently........

to the point where those bolt heads and threads are gonna need the FF........

like my rusty nips on my napa caliphers.....that are only a year old.....

And dont forget Atp 205 on the bushings once or twice a year.....after a bath.....
or the $20 a bottle Mothers stuff works just as good......

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Just be careful burning off some brands Brake Clean can produce Toxic Fumes that are deadly.

I would just let the fluid film burn off.
