How do you guys think a flow 40 would sound?

I found someone with the exact same truck as me and they said it sounds great. Like a baby v8 and very loud. http://youtu.be/se-3wVS2HZM also: here is also a YouTube vid.

If I do get this, what would be best?
    -Single-in to single-out
    OR
    -single-in to dual-out
....I found some more videos of ones with dual, but the single sounded way better.
Finally: the exhaust pipe turns right behind the wheel and out to the side. What would happen if I cut it off right before the turn? I've heard people say it's quieter... ps(i want the louder option)

Thanks for reading! Comment what you think.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I have this on my four cylinder and believe it or not it sounds pretty damn good. Low and burbly with little pops and backfires on deceleration but the high end just screams. Completely loses low tone when the RPM is above 2750-3000. So I don't know about the V6 but I think it is a decent muffler even though I plan to change to a Magnaflow 14in come spring. It just isn't all that loud and there is hardly a drone. I got the 40 Series Delta Flow single in single out. I think the duals are technically louder but the tone isnt as nice. If you want loud and mean do dual cherry bomb glasspacks like @devinzz1 that sounds mean and I'm sure it's loud as hell

The fm40 was super raspy above 3500rpm (it did sound real good with normal driving tho). I added a small glasspack to the system and it sounded real good.

Current setup is dual 2" from header, into x-pipe, into 2 2.25" long glasspacks, to 2.5" piping dumped above axle. Its real loud and unique sounding.

I have the flowmaster 40 in my 3.4 and love it. I picked it because of that video. IMO, it is the best sounding muffler on these trucks, and it produces a very unique sound. The mufflers with glass packing(magnaflow, etc) sound weird. I'm gonna put my FM40 on my 2.7

And personally I would just do a muffler swap. Toyota did great in the exhaust deist get on our trucks, and the stock exhaust actually flows very well. The FM with actually make you lose a minute amount of low end toque because Toyota did such a great job of creating an exhaust system. It already has 2 1/4" piling which is plenty for a 190hp engine. Any larger and you start to lose exhaust velocity and lose low end torque

Thanks for the input. The trd exhaust system sounds great in itself, but this is what I really want.

Best exhaust I had on my old 2000 TRD. sounded really good up until about 6000 rpm where it sounded kind of bleh... but that was only wheeling though

Does your exhaust pipe turn to the right out the back? And would it sound better if I cut it of right before it turns to come straight out. I feel like a lot of the sound comes from that turn in the pipe though

I have a FM 40 on my 04 Tacoma with the 3.4 and I love the sound. The stock muffler looked like a freakin cannon compared to the size of the flow master. I just dumped the end of the exhaust pipe up over the rear axle.

The only thing I did was a muffler swap. Everything was kept the same

I wanted more clearance in the rear and with the tailpipe sticking out the rear it doesn't allow that. Up over the rear axle gives me more clearance

Did you need a longer driveshaft?
