What’s up guys just got myself a 2014 regular cab 4x4. Bought it at an auction and was crashed in the rear. Paid 8k for it all said and done with fees. Didn’t feel like looking for a new rear bed so decided to make a flatbed. For the most part the bed was made out of 2x2 square tubing 1/8th. If you guys have a flat bed post it up I want to check it out and get some ideas.

Nice job resurrecting! If I’m not mistaken, I thought 2013 was the last year for regular cabs though.

I've started a build for mine. Hopefully sides, permanent taillights and ability to mount my RTT next.

I'm guessing roughly 250lbs, the same as my Pelfreybilt high clearance rear with swing arm and tire. Luckily now all the weight is not just hanging way out off the back end and makes my ride height much less squatty.

Not bad. Worth keeping an eye on though; factory beds are surprisingly light.

Thanks for the tag @OldSchlPunk !
here is mine: I am a shop teacher up in northern Wisconsin. needed a project for my advanced welding kids so I took the plunge. Lots of built in storage. Moved the spare up on top of the frame with some cutting and remaking of the cross members back there. Modular rack bars for bikes and canoes or nothing. Buddy is going to make a canvas cover at some point. Enjoy

I am a bit over a grand (okay 1200-1500) with everything and most of that is the Diode Dynamics lights I splurged for. Metal was a about 500 ish. Wood was less than 50. Latches etc were around a 100. Paint was a 100. Etc etc

I patterned this off some South African companies tray. They are @ 18k. There was a guy in Colorado trying to sell one and I recall he wanted around 12k. Couldn't justify that kind of expenditure...

Would you do wood decking again? Ive seen at least one guy on here use old aluminum bleacher seats as his deck. Seems like a good combo of weight savings and rust elimination for those of us in the rust belt
