The answer to one question is the only thing keeping me from buying the new TRD Pro.

Will this be flat towable behind an RV like the Ranger and Colorado?

I don’t see why not. It won’t be full time awd or something that would prevent it from going into 2HI and putting the transmission in neutral.

Really?? I haven’t looked into it so I probably shouldn’t have answered. That’s news to me. I thought any vehicle that you can put into neutral could be flat towed. What prevents a Tacoma from being flat towed?

Depends on transmission design. Some do not lubricate sufficiently if the input shaft isn’t moving. Most Tacomas since the 1G cannot be flat towed without disconnecting driveshafts

I have a 2012 doublecab prerunner with an auto transmission. I installed a a driveline disconnect that allows me to flat tow it. The disconnect kit came with a shorter drive shaft too. The upside is it doubles as an anti theft device because the disconnect isn’t obvious on how to use it.
Got it from remcodsc [dot] com

The iForce Max owner's manual is readily available online: https://assets.sia.toyota.com/publications/en/om-s/OM04042U/pdf/OM04042U.pdf

Page 536 has the similar limitations (under 50 miles and under 18 mph) as previous generations for flat towing:

You'll need to disconnect the driveshaft for highway towing.
