    Hey guys!

Anyone have a recommendation on a nifty flashlight holder for our trucks? I normally keep a Pelican 7600 in my center console but I kind of want something along the lines of a big, old-school Maglite that I don't have to worry about charging every two days physically mounted... I remember seeing some truck a long time ago having a mount on the left side of their driver seat... Maybe it was one of those old umbrella holders... In any case I've always thought it would be cool

    Any help much appreciated!!

there are several molle panel mods near the drivers side of the cabin. you can mount the panels to the door or the side of the center console. and theres one where you can mount to the drivers seat floor bracket.

    https://desertdoesit.com/collections/shop-by-product/products/front-multi-mount-panel
this one is for the drivers seat

    https://caliraisedled.com/products/2005-2021-toyota-tacoma-center-console-molle-panels
this kind mounts to the center console..plent of other versions of it by other companies.

I have a mag lite sized flashlight and I just shove it between the right side of the drivers seat and the center console. It’s handy, stays in place and I can grab it in a second. In fact I have two of them there. No special mounts, no hassle. Easy peasy.

Hey thanks for the info everyone! Those of you with Maglites. What’s your preferred model?

I’ve looked just a little but Im leaning towards the “ML300L 4D LED Long-Running Flashlight”

Good grief. I could have sworn the title was "fleshlight mount". I was trying to figure out what condition would cause you to need to mount your fleshlight to use while driving.

Rechargeable flashlights with led bulbs can go much longer than a couple days before needing to be recharged.

My first streamlight strion incandescent, ok yes it needed to be charged every 2-3 days. My new go to strion led can go a couple weeks before it needs to be charged. I also have a strion led hp and hpl. Those two are extremely bright, too much for a flashlights intended purpose.

For in the Tacoma, I carry a microstream. Tiny thing that a non rechargeable version would probably use 2aaa batteries. It’s similar in brightness to a 2d incandescent maglight. The charger cord I use is about 3”, so it perfectly rests next to the shifter plugged into a USB adapter. No holder necessary.

The thing with rechargeables is the cost. I paid about 30 for the microstream, probably cost more now. The strion Led I splurged and got the green anodized for about 90. Depending on which charger you want, dc, ac dc, piggy back, they run around 100 for the regular black anodized. But then you never need to buy flashlight batteries ever again.

3 C cell LED. I’d buy something rechargeable vs battery powered if I were to do it again.

FWIW - rechargeable requires a connection to the, or a power grid. If power fails and the rechargeable device uses up the internal power source, you are SOL. "Some" devices are better suited for use with replaceable batteries.

Exactly! I want something that’ll last forvever by just exchanging some batteries. Not that I do anything to crazy, but it definitely sucks when my Pelican 7600 would die when I needed it the most.

Also look at quick fist clamps if you need something that can't be knocked loose if something catches on the light. I use them for many things.

Good, I’ve been in this state just long enough to probably get triggered if I got judged
