A common complaint about polyurethane front control arm bushings is they develop a squeaking noise. The grease gets dried out or washed away over time. So I decided to see if there was a way to make them greasable. Here's what I came up with. I know the red grease is not the correct grease. It was used for proof of concept before buying a tube of prothane or similar silicone grease. https://www.amazon.com/polyurethane-bushing-grease/s?k=polyurethane+bushing+grease

An Energy Suspension lower control arm bushing is what I started with.

I used a 1/2" bolt and nut with 2 coned washers and spun it in my drill press. Using a file a made a shallow groove right in the center of the bushing. It's only about 1/16" deep.
Here's a easy way to make a cone washer to hold bushing centered.

After cutting the grove on the outside.I used a 1/16" drill bit and drilled holes that lined up with the internal grooves in bushing.

Then lined up the groove on lower control arm for location of grease zerk.

Drilled and taped hole for grease zerk. I choose the top of the control bushing for grease zerk. It will require a 90 degree grease zerk to be able to grease it. But it will be protected from rock damage.

Assembled everything and used a C-clamp to squeeze it together as if it was installed. End result was successful the bushing was greased all the way around.

Installed the greasable lower control arms 3 weeks ago. They grease like they're supposed to.
