Hey all, planning to lift my truck probably next weekend, planning on doing OME 885 Coils, Icon AAL’s, and the ECGS bushing.

Wanted to know if I should have any issues clearing a 255/80/R17 Tire, I want a little bit bigger tires than the 265/70/R17’s I have now.

I plan on mating them to a set of TRD 17x8 Wheels, with about 5mm of offset. They should sit out of the fender flares a little more, and give me a more aggressive look I’m thinking. I’m thinking I shouldn’t really have any issue since they sit out further, just wanted to ask some of you guys. Wheels: https://www.oeswheels.com/products/...tacoma-4runner-fj-cruiser-sequoia-lexus-gx460

Also, does anyone know any good TPMS sensors to pair with these? Are they 315 mhz too? I know denso is good, but how about another reputable company like Autel? Anyone have any experience there? Just trying to get an idea. Thanks!

    Brooks

I have 6112’s set at 1.5” lift and RXT leafs out back at stage 1 with about 400lbs in the bed at all times, it sits almost level. I run 255/80r17’s on 17x8 -10 FN wheels, I rubbed the front of the inner fenders when turning and compressing the . All I did was move the front part of the inner fenders forward and that took care of any rubbing I had.

I run that size on a +15 FJ steel wheel with OME 888 & SPC UCA. No issues for me.

Looks like a really nice setup, I dig it! When you refer to the inner fender are you referring to the plastic fender well?

Awesome, good to hear. How much lift are you in front and back?

Do you mean “TRD style” aftermarket wheels? I don’t think Toyota makes 8” wide wheels. They are a bit wide for a 255/80r17 aren’t they? What is the recommended wheel width for your tires? They should fit just fine on the stock wheels.

yes, the front part where it attaches to the front bumper. I unbolted it, slid it forward, drilled a new hole and fastened it back to the bumper. I then trimmed bumper of the factory mounting holes. I can take some pics if you’d like.

255/80r17 will fit at stock height with basically zero rubbing.

You’re right. They’re TRD style. These are the ones I bought which are 17x7 which looks about right.

I’m running 255/80/17 on 2” OME lift and sema wheels. I cycled the suspension and it barely touched front of the bumper on the left side but that’s it. I’m even running stock mudflaps.

Im really liking this set up, you get clearance of 33”s without all the extra weight and rolling resistance. I was getting 20 MPGs driving around town, wasn’t in a rush by any means.

255/80/17 will be just fine on 8” rim, but your tire will be pretty much flush with the rim, not good if you off-road and air down.

Did you mean to say 255/80/17? Cuz those fit just fine with 5mm offset.

The rubbing may be an issue though… any fix for that really? Grinding/cutting down part of the bumper?

Nope no issues, it barely touches at full articulation. I’m not even gonna do anything about it.
