I recently picked up a set of SCS ray 10s 17x9 -38 with 285/70/17 Toyos. What a surprise they rub! I have Bilstein 5100 with Toytec 521600 spring with top plate spacer. I reallly love this look but am not about rubbing and don’t really want to cut the cab mount and go thru all that. So my question is, I have an almost new set of 265/70/17 wildpeak at3w do you think they would still rub with this offset? I considered selling the wheels and possibly running a different offset wheel to clear the 285s. Looking for best option. This is my first post I am new here. Love my 13 Tacoma sport.

Great looking wheels! Not surprised your rubbing with the 285s. And you might still rub with the 265s. A lot of guys overlook alignment when it comes to rubbing. Going for as much caster as possible will move the wheel further forward in the wheel well. That will get you away from the cab mount.

Thanks! That’s what I was afraid of. I might end up just selling the setup and just get a not so aggressive offset wheel and run my 265s

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
You are going to need to take off the little plastic flap in front of the wheel and your mudflaps.
Also a wheel alignment can help.
    That's for running 265/70/17s
Good luck! Try the SCS with 265s before you sell them.

I’m going to have to get another alignme too, hopefully they’re able to push mine away from the cab mount.

    I have the ray 10 8.5 with 285 70 17
    My caster is at 3*
With no mud flaps only rubs at full lock in reverse sometimes
I don't do any hard wheeling
I would try that first before selling wheels
    They are great looking wheels

Ok my 2nd Gen People! I’ve been researching for too long. I finally found y’all
I’m debating In scs 17’s -10 or -38. I want a fat stand! I like the aggressive stance! I have bilsteins 5100 3 inch lift with 285/70 w sport rims. I know I’ll need a CMC but how much trimming will I need? Anyone else has done it?

What wheel width? With the -10 you’ll have to do the least. -38 more. Each truck is different, pick a wheel then test fit and find what you’ll be cutting. Pick your poison. Do you have aftermarket ucas? They will help.

I have a 2011. So the scs offer wheel width of 8.5 with the -10mm offset or 9 width -38mm offset. I have stock UCA’s

Even with a lower offset you're going to rub. It's going to be tough to achieve the 3+ caster you'll need to clear that cab mount unless you have UCAs. Some minor trimming of the bottom fenders will help with rubbing.

Thanks for all the input fellas. Yea I’m going with a CMC Forsure! but I’m kinda of concern about cutting fender plastic well atleast the visual one lol not sure how much of it will be need to cut for them to fit

If you're willing to do what you need to run the -38 I would go with that for aggressive stance.

You're going to need high caster for the -38, CMC, pinch weld, and minor lower fender trimming. It also depends on what you're trying to do. If you're going to wheel hard and stuff them, you'll need more. If it's just a daily thing you'll be fine.

Here's mine for example with specs:
    Front Coils @ 2.75"
    Caster 3.9
    CMC/Pinch Weld/Liners removed
    2" Fender Trim Front/Rear
    SCS F5 16x8 -25 w/ 305/70/16

Daily I don't rub at all in any setting. Wheeling I rub if they're stuffed.

Don't want to quote my own post -

In the spring I got a new set of tires - Wild peak At 285 x 70 17
They set my caster at 1.7
Only rub I get is in reverse at full lock to RT
Rubs on front liner, I could cut liner but it doesn't really bother me

@tacofish I see you went with 17x8.5 with -10 offset.

I really want The -38 offset look but seems that maybe I’ll wait on it and just go with the —10 offset

Running 285/70/17 on 8.5 -10 aftermarket ucas caster at 4* removed mudflaps also those little front ones too. It’s Prerunner . No rubbing at front or rear no cmc. Although I dont 4wheel I have no issues on the light trails to hiking spots or just for fun. Oh 3” lift
