I am really loving this truck! It seems to be everything I need and probably a lot more. I had a 17 gallon fillup yesterday and I averaged 20.9 mpg so far with mixed driving. My only complaints so far is that I wish it came with a locking gas cap. I ordered one from Amazon and it seems a little buggy but I'm getting it. The phone charger doesn't seem to work but from what I've read, it's probably because I have a magnet on the back of it preventing close contact with the charger. The magnet secured the phone to the top of my Jeep's dash and I forgot to remove the magnet from the Jeep when I traded it, so I guess I can pop it off the back of the phone.
I slid under the truck this morning on my roller and it looks like oil changes should be a breeze. I don't see any skid plates or anything in the way on this Sport; looks like the oil should just drop straight down. I have a coupon for free shipping from Fumoto. Does anyone have a recommendation for a 2023 Sport? Looks like Fumoto offers five variations for the 2023 Tacoma.

For the Fumoto, there is a short or long nipple, depends on your kink.

I went for the F133N w/long nipple, supposedly it is the newer version with higher flow. I also have the TRD Skidplate, so I wouldn't have to worry about road debris shearing it off. It allows for me to connect a tube straight into a 6qt jug, mess free.

Locking gas cap only stops neighborhood kids from siphoning. Nearly every homeless tweaker who wants to sell something, anything, for the next hit, walks around with a screwdriver and just needs a big bucket. They don't care about leaving things pristine.

I never bothered to replace my gas cap since a tank of gas will always be cheaper than a replacement tank, although it prob won't matter due to what I just wrote above.

Try Stahlbus, it operated just like our oil filter drains. I like mine, although I was a bit shocked by the most recent price I looked up.

With the lack of a skid plate under there, I'm probably going with the Fumoto 0133 short nipple.
I wasn't worried about anyone stealing my gas; I was more worried about some dirty trickster dumping something in my tank. I'll see how it goes with the Amazon gas cap but it looks like they sold a bazillion of them.
I also just installed a TruXedo TruXport bed cover. Looks great! :)

Long nipple. But I have a skid plate and a cat shield.

Second the Stahlbus. Used them for years on my Subies. Oil changes are a breeze on the Tacoma. I lost my connector and hose somewhere in Canada. Stahlbus sent me a box and had it waiting for me in Alaska. I sent them an email asking what I owed and was told nothing. Opened the box and there were two connectors and two hoses. That’s customer service. I use 2 or 3 plastic store bags around the filter canister and don’t even bother with the drain plug. Just go slower when loosening it up.

I went with the short nipple (133S) and added the clip-on extension to attach to a hose.

So it says to not pull it off straight but to "snap" it off -- won't that wear down the lip that holds it on the valve device after a while? Also it says to not leave it on but if you have a skid plate won't that not matter? I guess these are questions for Fumoto Support and not Tacoma World, eh?

I'll need to go look again but I'm pretty sure it is held in place by flexible teeth, shouldn't do any damage when snapping off. Theyalso sell a plastic equivalent.

So if you don't have the TRD skidplate, just the normal OEM skid, it doesn't cover the long valve?

I just started a return. It's on its way back. My Taco threw a weird CEL and the dealership even called. I'll go back to the non-lockable cap until I can find a suitable replacement.
