    Hi all,

First post here on tacomaworld. Figured I'd show off my Taco as I just installed some new wheels and tires today.

I'm running 265/75/r16 BFG AT KO2's with GFX TR-16 wheels, stock suspension. I haven't seen anyone in the 2nd gen forums with these wheels yet so figured I'd share a picture.

I did end up having to remove the front mud flaps due to minor rubbing. The wheels have a slight negative offset, which was probably the culprit. Also luckily snagged a matching leer cap off facebook marketplace a few months ago, really happy the the look. Going to add a roof rack at some point.

Was it tough to find 16" wheels that fit? I'm reading a lot about people who have trouble clearing the brake calipers. Does your model truck have the oversized calipers? Do you have any pictures of the hub so I can see?

Sorry for all the questions haha. I bought a set of wheels (not these ones) and they didn't fit, and I wasted a lot of money on return shipping. I do appreciate your input though.

It wasn't too hard to find 16" wheels that fit. I ended putting together a wheel and tire package on Discount Tire Direct's website, and they also ensured fitment after I called to double check. Plus the stock wheels were also 16's, and the GFX's hub bore was almost identical to stock, so I was fairly confident they'd fit.

I did look into the ProComp 32 series 16" wheels, but it seemed that some people with 2nd gens on here had trouble clearing their calipers. Others said they'd fit, but for me it wasn't worth the risk, plus the ProComps weren't hub-centric and I didn't want to have to deal with hub rings. All in all just decided to go with the safer & ultimately cheaper option. At the end of the day I just wanted matte black wheels with a bit of negative offset and wasn't super particular about the design.

However it looks as though you have a 3rd gen taco, so I'm not too sure if the caliper size is different on the 3rd gens than on the 2nd gens. I don't believe mine has oversized calipers. It's just the base 2015 model, so perhaps the TRD sport/offroad models have bigger calipers? Just my guess but I could be wrong.

Yeah it sucks haha. Well discount tire says it fits my truck so I'm going to do it. I've gotten a few individual opinions from people who use these wheels so it's the best I'll get to actually buying them and trying them.

I bought these same wheels from discount tire last month, still backordered until the end of the month... which I did not know at time of purchase, but I guess it'll be good to have them paid off the credit card before it get them :D. After seeing your photo I am even more stoked on them! Went with the same size tire, but Falken at3w, not KO2s. I'll get a pic uploaded here when they're on the truck!
