Hey everyone, i just coverted from an 86 dodge D100(Wonderful vehicle) to a 2012 duel cab tacoma. I am using it for work, and im a cable tech. My issue is that i cannot for the life of me find a ladder rack that will work with the sliding tracks with the exception of one that costs 450 and doesnt even show pics of how its mounted. I need help, does anyone have the same model and put a rack on it? Anything would be helpfull.

I recommend that if you can't find one or find one that's a decent price, see what some of the fabricators on here could come up with.

If you can find them they were on sale at Lowes for $299.00, but most places want much more now that Thule bought them out and jacked up the prices.

They are the strongest rack available that I have seen for our trucks. Super HD with a 800# rating. They are fully incorporated into the bed rail system.

excerpts from other posts I cut and pasted :D:

Cut the rack down this weekend then had to take it for a test. Took 4" ff in height and 9" in width. I am very happy with the end result & hopefully I don't hit it off on a tree now. It still fits 2 yaks down and 3 on their sides + my short one on my tailgate/tool box and I still get all my bed space. Bars are 54" away from each other so plenty of span for a 12' boat. 1/2 the roof racks on the market are less then 3' span. Tacoma bed rail clamps are beefy as well.

you might need the optional clamps if you buy the universal one like I did

I put the front on backwards so I didn't loose bed space in order to open up my tool box

cut a slot in the center to remove whatever I have bolted without removing the end caps

I just put a sliding TracRac G2 on my Tacoma today.

    Base rail # 21600
Uprights for compact truck (part # 42000-01)
    I also added a cantilever.

Picked up the whole setup (uprights and base rails were brand new in the box) on CL for $575.

Base rails bolt right to the bed rails, no problem.

I'll upload pics if anybody is interested.

Is it made of gold? What makes it $800 more than a std Trac rack?
