Title. I have been doing most of the maintenance myself, but its time for the transmission flush, diff fluid change, and am going to throw in spark plugs just because. With such a laundry list of items, I want to one stop shop it. I took it to a local guy once and he completely F'd up my alignment, underfilled the oil, somehow screwed up the speed sensor calibration, and tried to overcharge me, so I'm trying to go with a bigger name just for quality and warranty of basic work. Also, there's really not much else around me that I would consider taking the truck to.

I made out great on some of my previous vehicles with Firestone's fix it or free policy, getting thousands of dollars of suspension work done at no cost to me. I also have a lifetime alignment on the Taco there.

Costco is closer, but I've never used them so I just wanted to see what the general consensus was. Thanks in advance!

Holy crap. I wouldn't take it to either of those for anything other than tires

Based on what? I've never had an issue with Firestone. And like I said there really isn't much else around me within a reasonable drive. Definitely don't want to take it to the dealer sooo...

Avoid Firestone. Hear way to many scary stories from there. And seems like the company doesn’t really care what their techs do. Costco at least has a higher standard.

and remember it’s not “Costco” that is working on your truck. But it’s “Jeff” or whoever it is working on your truck. And some places have good people and some have crappy.

If I had to pick between one of those two, I’d pick Firestone. But I’d probably talk with each shop first and see if they know what their talking about when it comes to the services you’re requesting.

Yeah I feel like this is what it really comes down to. Both of the ones near me have good ratings on google for whatever that's worth

Did not know Costco did auto work. Firestone good for oil changes. They have certified mechanics.

Not familiar with either but can save some bones of you do the diff fluid yourself. Super easy except the front is sometimes annoying to fill. About 6 quarts of oil.

I didn't know Costco did all that but if they do, they would definitely be my first choice.

I'm going to call and find out. The one near me advertises "Full Service" but that could still be relatively limited.

Interesting. That's one of the best companies on the planet. If they're full service they'd be my go to.

Firestone, we have always had good service there. That said I know the lead tech there and how THAT shop is ran. Other locations may vary.

It all comes down to who works at your local stores. Just like 4 Wheel Parts, some people have good experiences and some have bad.
