After searching local dealerships for what seems like forever, I finally received a call that the one dealership was able to secure exactly what I was wanting.
Build date is 11/18. So I'm hoping for a early Christmas present.
2024 TRD Off Road Premium, i-forcemax., sway bar disconnect.
Last new vehicle was my 2005 TRD Off Road back in SEP 2005 with only 36 miles. Feeling excited for the upgrade.

with 11/18 build date i would keep your hopes realistic that it just comes before the new year. or first week of new year. my hybrid was built 8-6 and was 2 weeks past scheduled delivery date. no reason stated why it was late. but your gonna love it!

since i got a build date, my estimated delivery range has expanded, shrunk, pulled in, expanded again, and gone back out. i should stop checking.

i found mine via smartpath, so i am just following it there - saved the link and click it far too often. it also went from a temp VIN to a permanent VIN at the end of the build week, so that was encouraging.

My dealer is not a Smartpath dealer. All I know is that I was told average transport time to my dealer has been 3 - 4 weeks for Tacoma trucks. Dealer added my name and email to the Toyota system for my truck. It is due to be built 10/28. I entered the temp VIN in my Toyota account dashboard online and it gives me the following message " Hang tight! Once your vehicle arrives, you can register your account using the official VIN" So I guess I will hang tight and wait.

unfortunately, even if you get the permanent VIN that doesn't work either - you still need a QR or numerical code from the truck to connect with the VIN (i already tried):

It may be February before that new truck rolls into town.

From the dealer. But it was estimated by the stated build date.

Hope not, but that’s fine by me. Current 2nd gen is running just fine.
Been 20 years since I’ve been through the buying process and I’m sort of learning it all over again.

I'm considering going the factory order way myself so I have to ask are you SURE it will be a 2024 or with it being that late of a build, could it possibly end up being a 2025?

He said it is a 2024. Can only confirm with the preliminary VIN assigned to the build. I think 25's are a little out yet. Corolla's, Rav 4's have also not ben released and with the Tacoma releasing so late this year, I can see the change over happening in maybe January. I have seen allocations for 24's into late November now.

Who knows really? The spec sheet says 2024 and so does a quick VIN check...although that is the temp VIN and not entirely accurate for the truck. I'm not too concerned if its 2024 or 2025 either.
Not a factory order per se. The dealer somehow played with removing or adding options on a truck that was almost the right one. Then Toyota changed it and became the exact match.

Where are you located? Lots of them near me in NJ. Damn that's a pricey truck.
No way I'd consider the hybrid, too much money for basically no return. I weighed out the premium vs non premium, went without the premium to save a bunch of money. I can live without the premium options, although the disconnect i would have liked. Couldn't find one within traveling distance. Kind of glad now, I heard it being used, what a bunch of noises that makes. Sounds like it's cross threading the shit back together or something and I really didn't need it.

If it allocated as a 2024 at the factory, then that is what you should be getting.
