I am going to be putting a set of color matched fender flares on my husbands truck in the next week or two. I have everything I need except of the adhesive strip. For those of you who have done this, what did you use as a replacement for the 2 sided adhesive it says is on the original flare?

When I get this job done I will have the original black flares and front valance available if anyone is interested.

another tip is to remove the clips from the fender and clip them into the fender flare before installing the fender flare onto the fender. makes things a lot easier too

i use/recommend the 3m molding tape or otherwise called 'extreme bond, 30 pound' tape. it's the same stuff, though the molding tape version usually comes in thinner widths, and usually with less length per package--so you need more packages. i like the hardware store version(the extreme mounting tape), due to it being a 3/4" width('molding tape' is very hard to find that wide), and a ton of length so i don't run out in the middle of a project.

i recommend specifically purchasing from an automotive parts store, or from a hardware store. i've attempted a few times ordering online, and always end up with garbage knockoff stuff 'M' stuff that barely sticks to itself in the best scenario.

hardware store stuff should look like this:

or, be sure to get the stuff in the green package from car parts stores that looks like this:

When I repaired mine I used 1/4" m3 tape. 0.75" is way wide. You suppose to apply the tape to the edge of the flare

Thank you all for the quick response, I’ll head out to pick some up tomorrow. His flares and valance just shipped last Friday so I have a few days to gather my ducks.
