My system failed at the rear muffler flange and I’m trying to decide what to do. I live in Pennsylvania so rust is inevitable. Summit has a 409 SS system for about $400. NAPA has a supposedly SS system for about $200. I’d like to install myself and prefer not to have to modify or weld anything if possible.

    Suggestions?

I like my Walker Exhausts not crazy expensive easy to change .

If it breaks far from home most places you can get one the next day

Really in the Woods maybe 2 or 3 days

Thanks fellas. I’m in the boonies up north of Pittsburgh. Not my first Toyota but she’s my first Tacoma. Had 1982 FJ40 and an FJ Cruiser.

Starting to think I’m being punked here. The vehicle input search function only goes back to 2000 at the above linked website and shows no available systems for any Tacoma’s of that era. Are you referring to a universal system that happens to fit? Even that I’m not seeing. May just go with the Summit if they have one that fits the standard cab. 409 SS is definitely better quality than whatever I’m getting at NAPA but at least NAPA is half the price and is direct fit.

I assumed (incorrectly) that this would be a simple question with a simple answer.

The work beast and weekend warrior rig.
I've always had good luck with Magnaflows. If your going to drop the dough on a ss exhaust you might as well try to make it a mandrel bend also and gain a little horsepower.

You might go talk to a local muffler shop first. On my last car build I had a complete custom mandrel bend system done up for $175 ... wouldn't have been able to beat that deal online.

Good advice. Thanks. I’ll check around locally and see what I can come up with.
