****DISCLAIMER**** I doubt i’m qualified to review anything....and YMMV, but here goes:

I decided to try something different again when I needed tires this summer.

    This tire caught my eye.

    http://www.falkentire.com/tires/light-truck-suv-cuv-tires/wildpeak-m/t-tire-0

    1F840918-6BAA-4EC4-B1BC-158312838D81.jpg

After some research and talking with @XPOTRPR i decided to pull the tigger.

I will be using this thread to update my thoughts on the tire and show photos of their wear/performance.

This thread can also be general information and discussion on these and other tires.

I am running them in LT265/70R17

2k mile update with initial impressions:

Had one trip offroad so far and my initial impressions are...

    Mud- excellent

    Gravel- super grippy

Wet Pavement- more grippy than my ST Maxx were

Dry Pavement- not as stiff or confidence inspiring as i would like, they have a lot of flex and roll under load.

The Noise- its a mud tire, its relatively loud. But considerably quieter than most mud tires

    ***NOTE***

I did experience some pretty severe chunking on some shale ledges on the rear tires ONLY.

Falcont stoppedby our shop and recommend I run them on my diesel. I have the procomp mts on it now and they are dying like ten times faster then they bragged they would .

My primary reason for trying these tires was no one in my area could get me a set of Cooper ST Maxx’s for less than $1055

    These falkens were $804 OTD

maybe my procomp dealer is offering a 40K warranty on these mt's (my main reason for buying them) they are almost half gone and i have like 8K on them so if they fallow threw with the warranty then no but if they fuck me like i think they will then yeah im getting falcons next my cost on 315/70R17's is $198 a tire

Have you contacted falken about the chunking? I've crawled with mine a few times now and now just daily driving the chunking seems to be getting worse.

Jesus christ. Mine were 664 otd from discount tire. Either way I am about 4k into them and couldn't be happier. A definite upgrade from the bf hoodbitch in my humble opinion.

    4k mile update:

    mud- still excellent

    rain- getting more slippery

wet roads- more understeer than i would like and less oversteer than i prefer

    gravel- excellent

dry pavement- great, little noisier now but not unbearable

    dirt- grippy

towing- they handle load well but they seem to squirm around and follow grooves in the road really badly when loaded down

Here is an update. Falken gave me 70% off credit towards a new set! Talk about a brand that stands behind their product. Even told them they chunked while off roading and still covered it! And that's not just 70% off towards their own stuff it could have been any brand. Needless to say I stuck with falken. Combine the performance with the customer service and you've made me a customer for life!
