Looking for a year-round all terrain at a reasonable price that also looks nice. Snow performance is important.

I've narrowed it down to these two. I could save ~$100 CAD by going with the Wildpeaks but I hear the Dynapros are lighter and better for fuel consumption. Plus they have OWL which i kind of like.

Any thoughts on either or these two? Would definitely want to hear from people who've tried both.

Been running them for over 40,000 on my truck and they are still going. Zero complaints here. Great on road and off. Fuel economy is unchanged (20+ mpg)

Get the Falkens. This is from coming from two sets of KO2s. Great all around tire.

They are the best tires I've used in the snow. They continue to impress me.

Ive run both. Now running the Hankooks. Either is great. Treadwear will last a little longer on the Hankooks, but its negligible. The tread is a bit more aggressive on the Falkens. The tread is a bit quieter in the Hankooks.

That being said, I will likely go back to the Falkens in a 6-ply after these Hankooks wear out

Surprising to hear about the tread life. The Hankooks are rated at 560 vs 660 for the Falkens, so the Falkens should last longer in theory. I'm currently running the Falkens, but I was considering switching to the Hankooks next time since they're quite a bit lighter, and they should be a little quieter too (not that the Falkens aren't quiet).

Love my 265/70/17 Falkens. 10,000 miles and they still look new. Should go 40k miles easy, by then hope they make a 255/80/17 pizza cutter.

I had the Dynapro on my gen 2 - they were okay but nothing special. Currently running the WildPeak AT3 on my Gen 3. Based on my need, towing, city and highway driving and weather conditions (rain, snow, dry) I'd say the WildPeaks are far better. Also the pricing from DT made it a no brainer. JMO

I agree with you. The Hankooks I am running are 32" (255/75/17) and they weigh 39lbs

Funny you mention that size as I was also debating between moving to the 255/75/17 or sticking with the current 265/70/17. Not sure if the lower weight would make up for the increased diameter.

I see the OP is in Ottawa. Living over in Collingwood, ON, and facing the same kind of winter conditions as you, I'd suggest that if you want a tire that performs in the snow, buy a dedicated set of snow tires. Put them on a set of steel wheels and save your AT tires for the spring/summer/fall months. There is a huge difference, particularly in braking performance, with true snow tires and in the long run it doesn't cost you any more to have 2 sets of wheels/tires. Personally I use Toyo Observe GSI5's and can't say enough good things about them.

Falkens all the way.. I have the MT101's and they are badass. I used to sell tires and from the feedback and everything I saw Hankooks never lived up to there hype.

I have a set of Wilkpeaks on my 4runner and they're great! I've taken them through the snow and while everyone was sliding off the road, I kept on trecking. Road noise is really low as well on these tires. They're great daily tires for sure.

Falkens or Ridge Grapplers should honestly be the two choices ;)

I don't think so. Stick with 265/70/17, i found the 255/75/17 affects the rpm range and i would take a 1/2" less in height, increase of 1/2" in width to keep my rpms what they were. Im surprised it makes a difference, but I am an AT as well...

I have spun these 255's (burned rubber) way more than i ever did with the Falkens in 265

Pics of both the Falkens and the Hankooks. Can you tell the Falkens are 1/2" shorter? I can't.
